Are there any other Lopez releases besides WCIS? and Emptiness? I just
bought those two today (a wonder i could find them - both listed as imports,
both have been sitting in the bin for about a year and a half) and think
they kick ass!
Also, on the [devoted] Depeche Mode list, they are trying to fix the MTV
total request show voting to get DM played. Perhaps we could do the same?
Odds are that votes for moby vids will mean j.s. to MTV, but who knows for
sure? lemmee know if interested...

I only have 2 cd releases of Lopez (because they usually have more tracks than
12" releases) I think these songs are the only ones under the name Lopez...

Thanks to those who recommended Built To Spill. Along with yours and
some other's advice I picked it up and I'm enjoying it plenty. FYI,
Sonicnet has a cybercast of BtS on Monday, March 15th.
A1 6:00 Run On (Sharam Jey's Always On The Run Remix)
I'm sure those of you who heard Sharam Jey's Sweet Honey Mix are
delighted to hear about this! The Sweet Honey mix is like Daft Punk
meets Honey, sweet funky grooves! It's the most popular Honey mix among
my friends and siblings. The only problem is that (as far as we know so
far) this Run On mix is only on the German 12"! Markus Wollina, you
should locate these (when the time comes, in April) and start trading
with those of us in the US.
A2 5:25 Run On (Plastic Angel's House Of Pain Mix) [1st mix]
AA2 4:00 Run On (Plastic Angel's Celebration Mix)
I'm in the dark on these two.
AA1 10:05 Run On (Dani K÷nig Remix)
Sounds German. Markus, do you recognize this name? If so, what kind of
production is Dani K÷nig known for?
AA1 _:__ Run On (Dave Clarke Remix)
I've seen Dave Clarke associated with trip/hop. I've read here & there
that Dave is a DJ who makes records like the Chemical Brothers, Bentley
Rhythym Ace, Crystal Method, early Prodigy, etc... I don't know if this
is accurate!!! Let me know if you know. This could be a counterpart for
RJ's Mix of Honey.
A _:__ Run On (Moby Young & Funky Mix)
That's only one Moby remix, but that's excusable because there are
Spirit
Running
Run On (extended)
Sunday
Down Slow (full length version)
3 B-Sides & an extended mix, which may be different than the original.
Think Bring Back My Happiness. Also a full-length of Down Slow, an album
track.
I finally got the Honey CD1, and Micronesia's echoey snares remind me of
the echoey snares on the Aphex Twin's Richard D. James album. (I can't
remember which songs offhand, maybe Girl/Boy?) Memory Gospel is a
sun-peeking-out-of-the-clouds type of song. After a light rain, rainbows
abound, that is.

Hey Greg, haven't heard from you in a while.
Just wondering (as many probably are) how it's coming on Thanks 2.
Someone mentioned earlier that it might be cool if maybe you reviewed
the tracks you've received so far as sort of a preview of what's to
come. That would be cool.
I sent in my entry a while ago, did you ever receive it? What'd you
think of it?
Any tentative date for the finished product, or is that still in the
distant future? We all await with frothing mouths...

Hi all, it's been awhile.
About this commercial...I've seen it a few times and every time I see it I
make sure to tell everyone watching that it's Moby. They all know my love
for the man but not too much about his music, and what's nice is, they
have all made comments about liking it, giving Moby some recognition and
respect and in turn making me smile. why are some people so defensive
about this? He did a commercial, he didn't start making shitty music,
become stale, generic or lifeless. worse stuff could happen, right? And
if someone watching decides they like the music enough to buy it, then so
be it, he's wonderful!!!
peace,
danielle

Okay, sorry guys.
I've been out of town. To all of those that asked "Did I get it" - YES I
DID! (at least, all the ones I know of). When I get back home I will
move all of this stuff to electronic format (I've got CDs, tapes, etc.)
To all those asking, "Can I send a mix/song/whatever still?" Yes! You
can! Send away!
To Andy: I'll send your disc (ThanksI) back when I get home. Sorry about
that. Can I keep the cover art for now?
I'll post a worthwhile summary, reviews, notes, etc., when I get home.
And the web page, I've got that, too - when I get home.
I'm not home. :)

For the record, I don't mind when an artist sells a song to advertisers.
I also watch very little television. (about 2 per week) I found an
article about music in ads earlier today, online, but now I can't find
it anywhere. It's where I got some of this info.
Scorecard
1) Moby - Adidas (Memory Gospel)
2) Spiritualized - Volkswagon
3) Blur - Intel (Song 2)
4) Gomez - Phillips (cover of Beatles "Getting Better")
5) Orb - (little fluffy clouds was in some ad, maybe Volkswagon)
6) Crystal Method - Gap
7) Bob Seger - Ford (Like A Rock, the original rockin commercial that
still annoys me every time I hear it)
8) Rolling Stones - (some technology company I think, "You Can't Always
Get What You Want)
9) Black Sabbath (some truck/SUV commercial)
