Yes, 'EIW' at a local music store (Front Row) in the used bin for
$5.97 (+ tax, of course) in July, which was quickly knocked down to
$1.99 during the July 4th sale, and even quicker than that was snatched
up by someone (not me, though. I was going to buy it just to have two
copies, but decided not to deprive someone else of the pleasure of
listening to the best musician in the world.)

On a side note, my parents are going away this weekend
so of course that means, party at my place. I didnt even

Urrggg. I saw the AR w/ little idiot cd used for $20 over the summer.
I didn't buy it though. I feel dumb. Is it really worth it? cause I know
where I
can get it for about $27 new... should i?
But yeah, I see moby stuff used all the time. But most of it I already
have so it doesn't mean anything to me. Aside from EIW and ILTS, I
see singles a lot, and sometimes the occasional vinyl. I saw TWIRFMR
and JBT on vinyl over the summer at my fave used cd store downtown a while
ago, but that was before i got heavily into collecting moby stuff. me bad.

this is one of the better sounding comp. cds that ive heard in a long
time. The first one was so-so, but this one has some good kick and it
was programed by a friend of mine right here in old Conn. Check it out
its worth it.

Hey Martin, thanks for the info! Where'd you read this?
>>Michael Patterson (Puff Daddy) and Dallas Austin (TLC)
I got scared for a minute until I realized these are hip-hop producers, not
artists. Can somebody explain what these guys do? Moby's producing, but
these guys aren't RE-mixing, so what part do they play? I thought sound
mixing, balancing, whatever, would be considered part of production.
>>Porno that Moby is executive producer of
I didn't know he was the exec. Isn't that the owner of the production
company's credit? The guy who hires and fires directors and producers? I
thought Moby was only in a cameo, or something small. I didn't know he
sponsored it.
C. Bourke wrote>>
>>moby CD album ,single, Vinyl, etc in used sections?
>>If so, what and where?
I've seen Animal Rights plenty of times in the greater Chicago area. Lots of
disillusioned fans who got exactly what they didn't expect. I've seen
self-titled and the black Revolver single once each as well. Online I see
used Moby quite a lot. Drop a Beat and hymn.alt.quiet come up more
frequently than most. Right now somebody is trying to sell Animal Rights on
eBay with the description 'ambient techno from moby - animal rights' Whoops.
Oh yeah, I got my Drop A Beat 12" and JBT promo 12" used from Reckless
Records in Chicago.
Kelly, I bring CDs to parties and take over if there's no DJ. Usually it's
me vs. the guy w/ the No Limit CD. We keep sneaking up to the CD player or
stereo (we never see each other) and turning the other's music off. By the
time the first keg is empty I'm in charge. Due to the crowd I rarely get
asked what I'm playing. Unfortunately they have the radio to keep them
informed. The only person I've really confounded with Moby's variety is my
younger sister. On three separate days she asked me about Rare, AR, and
Honey, not knowing they were one artist. The 2nd two times I answered 'Moby'
her eyebrows went up in surprise. Me good.

Hey everyone--
Well, a couple of folks mentioned that they saw the video for "Honey" last
night on Amp. They also "premiered" it on 120 Minutes last week
(11.22.98), so for once I actually got to see it. Pretty cool video...but
as my friend put it, "why is he always running around in his videos?" (he
and I have only seen the James Bond video and the TWIRFMR video). Like
Paul, I'll have to say "What the fuck?", but I still thought it was cool.
Oh, and a friend of mine has the Space Ghost episode with Moby on tape, so
I saw that last night as well. If you guys want me to transcribe what
takes place or something, let me know.

okay this is what i found second hand, and i'm not kidding:
everything is wrong
everything is wrong mixed and remixed
end of everything (uk version)
feeling so real cd single (us)
hymn.alt.quiet.version
i feel it-next is the e ( 2 singles actually)
move ep
move 12" single (elektra promo)
animal rights/little idiot
ambient
and i have seen loads of animal rights (us and uk w/little idiots) on the
racks, seen some feeling so real singles, honey singles...so yeah. i'm a
junkie. i love second hand stores.
the first time i went to one, i'll never forget this.....i picked up almost
every single 12" from new order i can find (back in 1988). i now have about
28 12" singles from new order, 49 12" singles from depeche mode and about a
dozen cure 12". some really neat imports, colored vinyl, different
packaging.
ahhhh. the good ole days

I'm kinda curious if you have the time.
What do I think about the list now? I'm glad to see that the whole big
spat we were having is dying down. I was getting sick of it. We seem to
go through that same argument every few months. This one seemed to last a
little longer though. It's good to be getting some new Moby info and
intelligent discussions now, rather than an onslaught of raving posts.
Thanks for stepping in Damian. Listen to him everyone--he's the boss.
I too read that recent post and thought it meant Puffy is producing the
next album. I didn't quite know what to think. It would have been kind of
embarassing (not that there's anything wrong with Puffy for those who like
him, but we won't get into that discussion).
I feel like there have been a hundred other topics that I had wanted to
address, but my mind's pretty scattered now. I've been reading my email
pretty quick, and haven't sat down long enough at replying. So if you've
asked me a question and I haven't answered yet, then please ask me again.
I must be losing my mind.
Oh, and I'm curious about what's going on with Thanks II as well. Speaking
of which, I don't remember if I said anything or not, but I decided to try
my hand at some cover art for it:
http://picard.anderson.edu/~adekunle/mobility
BTW, I dig this list--thanks people.

i saw "Rare" and EIW: Remixed" in the used bins and maybe a couple
others...the "EIW: Remixed" was mine though cause that copy got a little
scratched up and i hate scratched CDs, so i sold it and bought a new copy.
the used bin here has some good stuff sometimes...i was able to get Massive
Attack's "Mezzanine" used, and i've seen stuff like UNKLE, NIN, etc. in the
used bin, but i usually don't buy used cause i'm very strict when it comes
to the condition that the album is in.

Here is some more non Moby, and I would have rather sent it to the Orbital
list, but since my email sucks and I can't get on it anymore, you guys win.
Anyway, This Saturday, I have a ticket to go see the Rephlex Allstars. IT says
that APhex Twin may only be DJing, and tha DMX Crew, Cyclob, and Agent 30 will
have their own sets, and that RDJ, DJ Grant, and DJ Mike Dred will be DJing
throuhgout the night. I have never heard any of these people except AFX of
course, and if anyone could tell me anything about them, that would be great.
Thanks. Later.

Personally, I'd go with AR then. AR is what started me on Moby...I came
from a background that was mostly punk/grunge sorta stuff. AR was nice in
that it had some heavier stuff and introduced me to some of Moby's quieter
stuff in between...I'm not sure that I would've been hooked right away had I
listened to anything else first.
