the thing that i'm wondering about is that if they're +200 people on this
list, why do only here from the usual few. i know that i don't contribute very
much, but, unless i'm mistaken, they're are not 200 people responding to this
list. i guess that's all

ok everybody,
firstly, i appologize to the entire list for all the trouble and
ill feelings this whole "thanks 1.1" thing has caused. and i'm
not going to try to explain to everyone in as few words as
possible what is going on, and what can be done about it.
the first thanks album was put together under the direction of
someone other than me....last year. when this project was finished,
this person decided that he wanted to keep it a limited release,
and never press any more. people were upset, but there wasn't
much that could be done since it really was his project.
now, a year later.....we (the list) are doing a thanks 2 tribute
compilation. and this caused the questions as to why the first
one was restricted to about 50 copies to resurface.
i have my own small record label that is based online. it is a
non-profit label,,,,with the motto "free music" attached to it.
i was able to convince this person to re-release thanks 1 on my
label, but he only agreed if it were to be a limited edition run
with different artwork and so forth.... my thoughts were "yes,
this is still not a good thing...but isn't it better than nothing
at all?"
so i agreed to do it as a limited edition deal....even though it
went against what i normally believe about music.
so, in the long run, i was forced to dissappoint a lot of people
who wanted to hear this music. and i'm unhappy about that.
i'm trying to do what i can to get the "limited edition" status
of this album lifted...but there really isn't much more i (personally) can
do that type about it. the person who "owns" this tribute to moby
hasnt spoken to the list about it yet, that's why i'm not saying
his name.
when he does, perhaps if enuff people ask him personally, he'll
reconsider. he has already mailed me saying that he would like to try
and find out how many people still want copies and then get them
to those people....but i don't believe that is solving the problem.
we will see what happens, and i'll keep you all updated as things progress.
everyone who did happen to make it in the first 20 and i responded to
telling them that they got a copy....those orders are certainly still valid
and are ready to ship out as soon as i recieve the payment for them.
again, my appologies for all those that i upset.....
i'll try to make things better,
ryu

OK everyone. I have something to say again.
It is my fault that the "limited" re-release came about. I apologize.
Please do not send mail to Ryu asking him to change this, because as of
now, it IS changed.
If you had been denied a copy of Thanks1.1, you will not be denied any
longer. Just let Ryu know you want it and you will have it. also, most
likely, there will not be any "new" artwork. if the original can be found,
it will be used!
As for a reason i did this, I wish I had one, but I don't. I guess maybe
the whole "i did it first" thing got in my head or something...i don't
know. i am truly sorry.
i hope that everyone who wants the cd will jump on the opportunity and get
it. you will not be disappointed!

Hello everyone,
I didn't get one of the 20 cds, and was wondering if someone who does have
the original thanks cd could possibly make me a cassette of it. I will
send you a blank tape in a postage paid envelope if you will...
I got the Honey remix album on vinyl.. it's one of my first records.. and
whoa is there bass on the last track... Honey - Bammer's Mix (I think?). I
like the sound of vinyl better than cd, although cd's are much more
convenient!!! Are records much cheaper than cd's to produce, or more
expensive now that cd's are more prominent?
I like the cover of Honey, the big pumpkin... I saw the actual book it
came from last spring when I was shopping for birthday presents - "Play
With Your Food". I liked what the artist did with leeks better than the
pumpkin though... so how many of you are carving Honey pumpkins on
Halloween?! (j/k)
Just out of curiosity, are any of you list members from Ontario?
Have a safe and happy halloween, watch out for cars buses and
18-wheelers... *snicker*

Thanks man. That takes a lot of guts to apologize, and I really admire you
for that.
I also want to thank you for the re-release in the first place.
Peace.

hello again,
guess who? me ryu! just 4 u! whoopie poo!
here's the final deal with thanks 1. this is what's
gonna happen. are you ready? here i go:
the original thanks 1 will be re-released in it's original
form (artwork, etc...) on sho as a regular release...no limitations
whatsoever. this is the good news.
the bad semi-bad news is that:
A. the original had color artwork, so this will boost teh cost
of teh cd from $5 to $7.
B. it will take at least another week before it will be ready to go.
so what i will do is let everyone know when the artwork's all
done being reproduced and such and ready to start selling.
we'll take it from the top from then on.
i'd also like to really thank andy for appologizing and letting this
go. we talked on teh fone tonite and everything is certainly cool
on his end. and i'd like to appologize as well if i got a little
angry earlier today with this situation.
awww....isn't that sweet! such a happy ending!
like a sitcom!
ok, talk to you all later,
ryu

I think it's great that some of you people are willing to
go to all this trouble to produce these CDs. There are
perfectly reasonable reasons why no extra copies can be
made, so let's FACE IT! As I said before, I'm not as
concerned as those who really want extra copies, but is it
really the end of the world!?

hey i just got back from my sister's bat mitzvah party
they plaayed James Bond Theme! by Moby! i requested it of course. it
was the only moby they had.
the dj said that he's actually got lots of requests for that song. not
just by title, but by artists. further proof (as if ANYONE needed it)
that jbt would be top of casey casems pops if only elektra had gave it
a bit more promotion.......
besides that the only good song they played was "army Of Me" (also by
my request)........and the usual, dave matthews and tubthumping
(ooops, everyone on this list besides me hates that song, sorry)
they also played some haloween songs, now thats different......
hey is anyone dressing up as moby? HA!!!! see, if you tried to shave
your head, people would think you're trying to be unkle fester......
oh well.............happy haloween evrybuddy!!!
bbbbbyyyyyyeeeeeeeeee.........
