can someone tell me something
about Morcheeba? They are playing in DC on Friday and I was wondering what
they are. Thanks. Later.
AJ
hi. morcheeba plays here next thursday (minneapolis) and i think it is
definitely worth checking out. if you like massive attack-type stuff (they
play sunday!) kind of a chill groove with great vocals. they had a song on the
radio a while back called trigger hippy, you've probably heard it.

Unless someone will dub it for ya, Thanks is done for. I tried to get one
myself last April. No go. A 2nd tribute sounds enticing, but we'd need
someone with the time, equipment, & dedication to do it. From what I can
tell the last effort turned out to be a bigger project than expected and
Andy has to put up with a lot of crap by the time he got done. From the
feedback it sounds like it was worth it 100%.
I recognize the merit displayed within the EIW liner notes, but I lack the
motivation & willpower to become a vegetarian. Philisophically I think it's
a great idea. I know one never knows until he tries, but I can't even kick
cigarettes. (most of the time I don't even want to, health or no health) I
lack the energy even to be disgusted w/ my own apathy, but at least I
recognize my faults, which I guess is the first step in attacking them. My
life is busy and I don't have room to make sweeping changes now. To
completely alter my diet and quit smoking would test every iota of mental
strength I have, something I'm not ready to try yet. I know I would be an
agitated, unsympathetic, rude, short-fused individual for however long it
would take to adjust, and I don't want to put myself and my friends & family
through that. Maybe later. Please keep critical comments on this where they
belong, private if it's solely about me, public if it's Moby-related.
Oh yeah, I'd have to move out and make all new friends if I did that too.
The temptation of being surrounded by that which I'm trying to escape would
be too much.

Regarding my previous post, I think we can have a wonderful discussion as
long as we stay on topic. If anyone chooses to follow up on this, let's keep
it on-topic and related to Moby & his beleifs. If we steer off and start
running off on crazy philosophy tangents that would turn this list into a
forum for something other than it was intended, and that has angered many
when it happened in the past. If that happened I'd feel very bad about
posting my thoughts on Moby's beleif in detail. I apologize in advance if
anybody feels this was out of order.

listen to them more to give a review. Anyway, kudos to whoever put up the
address for Replay records (was it you Steve??? you rawk). I put the order in
on Thurs and received it today. Fast for the UK.

Moby helped influence me, but I wouldn't say that I'm a vegetarian
/because/ of Moby. Reading the EIW liner notes were one of the things that
really got me thinking about it, and I went on to do more extensive
research and investigation before deciding to take the challenge.
Steve--just dive into it my friend, you'll be surprised.

Thank you and you're welcome. :) I'm surprised you ordered from Replay, lots
of other places had more Moby and more techno to choose from. I just looked
at thier catalog cause I haven't been there in a while and all they had was
AR. I guess they only had one of each Honey release. I'm gonna have to get
the UK vinyl too since the promo of it I got was either a bad pressing or
received invisible damage. The Sweet Honey mix skips in 3 places. :(
>>Fast for the UK.
I've found that recently I get stuff from the UK in about 4 days after I get
confirmation of my payment's arrival. I use money orders also, so I don't
have to wait for the international check clearing process. If you're
ordering from overseas and you want your stuff in a timely fashion, use a
credit card (immediate payment)or a money order. (3-4 days to get there)
Has anyone heard the other two Jr. Vasquez mixes of Into The Blue, the two
not on the CD? Just looking for info and opinions as usual. I got that
monster ETYTM poster today. Rock Man Rock. (I like that alot, Jake, and keep
reading those Card books!)

That sucks for me. I put my order in at Replay two weeks ago this friday and
have yet to even receive a confirmation, let alone cds. Maybe I need to
check on the order status and see if it's been processed or shipped yet? Or
if the order even took from the website.

Wow, I checked the stuff they used to have that I listed in the buying ops
post and I'm glad people are taking advantage of them. Makes me happy. As
for the results.. well I hope your order is intact, Brad. I recommend always
sending an e-mail requesting confirmation if you're only filling out a form
on their site. About half of what I order is from private dealers, not
stores, and I've found that strong communication is very important wherever
you order from.
So, have I single-handedly increased the global demand for Moby music yet?

So does mine! AFAIK it is the same on both the promo and release 12"s.
I figured it was the record player's fault, or that I got some messed
up records.

Yes. They're similar to the other Vasquez mixes, but without vocals.
"Into The Blue (Tribal Dub)" is my favorite. It's another track I

I was curious about some of the samples from "Permanent Green" off of =
Early Underground. For a while I though that the samples sounded like =
Micheal Jackson but now I am not so sure. I'm under the impression that =
Micheal Jackson wasn't big on letting people sample him/his music.
Furthermore, about a month ago I was listening to a cd called "The =
Beginnings of London House" (released 1988 on FFRR) and it had some of the =
same samples that "Permanent Green" did.=20
I guess I am asking who did he sample? Where did the samples come from?
Sorry if someone has already asked this here but I am kinda new to the =
list and I really like the track. Also are there any remixes/versions that =
are different from the one on Early Underground?

some of you may have gotten a tape of my stuff a while back, and some of
you may have heard my music on KUMD here in duluth, mn. anyway, here's
the scoop....xero products (that's me) has offically released "lull" a 90
minute tape of 12 melodic techno songs.
if you got a tape from me before, this is different stuff eventhough the
name of the album is the same.
i also put a lot of time into the art work. it's all clear, so you can
see right through the tape case!
you can order a copy direct from me, or, if you live in or near duluth,
you can go to Round-About records on superior st. downtown and get a copy.
however, if you order a copy from me, it'll be $1 cheeper! only $5!
if you want to know any more about me and my music, please send me a
PRIVATE email. if you want to order a copy, just send a check made out to
Zac Bentz to this address:
xaq
332 N 34th Ave. E
Duluth, MN 55804
i will send you a tape within 2 days of getting your money.
also, all the money i get will go right back into making more tapes and
eventually a CD and 12" single.
THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!!!!!!!!!

if we get as much cooperation on this as we did the first one, i'd
very much love to release it on my online label.
i get a decent number of hits a day, and my label's stuff gets played
on several college stations accross the country (and globe).
i don't really deal with copyrights, but for this, i'd make an exception and
have all the credit go to moby first, then to each artist secondly.
no money is to be made as sho records is non-profit.
each cd would sell for $5.
but it's a great way to get the music heard.
if you'd like to master it to dat, that's cool.
i can take over the job after that of mass producting them
on cdR.
i'd like to make a second tribute....i think it's time.
feedback anyone?
bye,

If God didn't want us to eat animals, then why did he make them with meat?
Cause they taste so good. There are plenty of reason why to not eat animals,
but they are healthy (in moderation) and are tasty. I don't think reading
something could make me change my mind about anything. Maybe if someone
brought me to a slaughtering, I could ponder the idea, but I don't smoke,
drink, or do drugs because of my own feelings of them. And, I feel that no
meat would really limit my menu as I am picky enough already. Anyway, everyone
has their own ideas. Later.

Subject: (mobility) OMD remix and hi, sorry its a long one
I don't know if anybody mentioned this(just joined and haven't back
checked the other days digest) is that Moby did a remix of OMD's Sovenir
which is on a cd single and 12"(part 1) being released in the UK on
Monday.
Oh yeah, hi. JUst joined the list but in a way I have been with the list
since its inception. Because I didn't have my own computer I usually
looked in on the list from friends computers and on the ones at the
college I go to. Finally got my own and so here I am. Lets see
I little about me. My name is Keith Clancy, I live in Hicksville, Ny
which is on Long Island (about 30 minutes from NYC). I am a junior in
college (though am takeing a semester off before transfering to SUNY New
Paltz). Started to listen to Moby back in '92 when Go just came out as a
single and heard it a rave in NYC at that time but not until a a year
later when the Move ep came out which had great reviews did I fully get
into Moby and all his incarnations. I am a huge fan of music ( I buy at
least one cd or vinyl a week). Besides Moby am a huge fan of Tori Amos,
Depeche Mode, and the Cure. Also listen to The Orb, F.S.O.L., Aphex
Twin(all of his projects), Dead Can Dance, Underworld, New Order, Meat
Beat Manifesto. Brian Eno, Orbital,Chemical Brothers, Portishead, Dj
Shadow, Jeff Mills, Detriot techno(Kevin Saunderson,Juan Atkins,etc),
MoWax label, Skint label, No U Turn label, Autechre, Sabres of Paradise,
and anything on Novamute just to name a few.
Before I list what I actual own I just wanted to put a idea foward for
everyone to think about. I would love to trade tapes with people on the
list. But not only the usual bootleg trading(though if you have I would
love to trade a tape of something for it) but that of rare tracks, remixes,
etc. If you didn't have anything rare of Moby to make a copy of and trade
with I know I would take anything dealing the artists I listed above or if
you wanted I think it is generally done in other trading groups each tape
I give to you, you would give me 2 blank tapes. This is a just a idea,
anyone interested mail me.
