what an unexpected thing... on whatever evening news show is on ABC right
now (8p central), just before one segment they played Shining! i can't
believe it! of course, i remember hearing the aggro mix of never let me
down again (depeche mode) on there once, too, which is pretty cool. just
thought i'd share that with people...

The odd thing is, although she now likes the Spawn soundtrack, she
DIDN'T like the song by moby and the butthole surfers. She did like
Rare, though.

Exactly how loud were you playing "Thousand" that your *neighbor's* dog got
freaked out by it? If you could hear it through at least walls and maybe a
yard or two, I think it would freak me out too.

Hmmm... It's possible that your RealAudio software has not installed
itself as a plug-in to your Internet browser. Here's what you can do:
Right-click the link to the RealAudio (or MP3) file. Click "Save Link
As..." if you are using Netscape, or "Save Target As..." if you use IE.
Choose where you want the file to be saved on your hard drive, and
then start your RealAudio player program. Tell it open that file, and
that should work! The CD quality MP3 sounds much nicer than the RA
file, though.
BTW, Moby's birthday == September 11, 1965.

I've noticed that Real Audio doesn't always recognize its files
depending on which version you are using. I uninstalled the new G2
because it hated almost everything I tried. I'm use Netscape and it
normally gives you the option of getting a plug-in or choosing the
application that you think fits that extension... if it gives you the
option of choosing, then find where you stored the application and
select it (obviously). Otherwise, open your RA RealPlayer and copy the
URL into the "location" field. That should work. :)
I'm not sure what else to tell ya, good luck.

Subject: (mobility) honey on radio!
you may be wondering, someone from the states heard honey on the
radio? actually, yes i did. it was last night on the radio 104
electronica show. dave the wave (the dj) played the rollo/sister bliss
mix. of course i didn't know it cuz he said that after he played the
song, and i cant remember how it went...and besides its not the
original version anyway...he said that the single would be coming out
in england next month (i think) and that he didn't have a record deal
in the states.
also he played a few more moby tunes earlier. he played some version
of go (i think it was that german trance version) and then hhe played
the "old school vibes mix" of fsr. and then he said after the
commercials hed play some "old school industrial." well after the
break he played rammstein "du hast", which isnt industrial, but DAMN
that song rocks! then he played KMFDM "naive", and then he played Meat
Beat Manifesto's "radio babylon", which he said was a very influential
record, and then he played the alley cat mix of "charly" to prove it.
i think MBM is one of those millions of groups that i should really be
payinng attention to and buying their records but i just dont have
enough money. so i'll just add them onto the list with fsol and
kraftwerk and massive attack and tricky and about a billion other
groups.....
well after prodigy he played "honey"...and i thnik he played like daft
punk or something after that....whatever. no on e cares anyway. okay
bye yall!

That list of people to buy, FSOL, Massive Attack, Kraftwerk, and Meatbeat
Manifesto are all on my need to start buying list as well. However, please, if
you ever get around to buying any of those CDs, don't buy Tricky. I have all 3
of his releases. The first was good, but the next was bad and the third was
horrible. I am so dissapointed with his last 2 CDs I promised my self to never
listen any of his CDs ever again.

If you don't like Pre-Millenium Tension and Angels With Dirty Faces then
fine, but why deprive yourself of Maxinquaye; which you said you like?!
That's just silly. Tricky's done some horrible, horrible things (Nearly
God, Angels With Dirty Faces) but come on-Grassroots, the
Pumpkin/Overcome/Ponderosa/Black Steel/Hell Is Around The Corner series of
singles, Maxinquaye, PMT and the undeniable beauty of Tricky Kid (pt.1) are
all fantastic! Why would you stop listening to the good stuff *just*
because you don't like the new stuff?
Personally, I really didn't like Oil 1 & Graciosa by Moby. I wasn't a big
fan of ILTS either. But I still listen to the other stuff all the time-just
yesterday I bought the 12" for the Everytime You Touch Me contest winners
(note: the Tabernacle remix is f***ing amazing). Don't deprive yourself
just for the sake of being elitist....

I personally love Tricky's music. Maxinquaye is my favorite but premillenium
tension and Angels with Dirty Faces are both very good (in my opinion) While both
of the new ones are nothing like maxinquaye... how can you not like broken
homes??? or Can't Hardly Breathe.??? both are just amazing.... I saw him in st.
louis a few weeks back and he puts on a hell of a show! I recommend everyone
going!

i am gonna jump in here between the two of you and say you're both
right!!!!!
if someone you've admired in the past starts doing some really horrible
stuff whether it's shit music or child-molesting....it's easy to become
turned off enough to not wanna ever hear him say another word.
not unlike being in love with a girl who you've had the deepest feeling
for
had the most fantastic experiences with
walking in and find her fucking some guy you hate
she knows you hate
and never wanting to speak to her again>
just because she's done great things before that you liked doesn't mean
you can want to continue to enjoy her expressions into the future>
on the other hand ...rekkit is so absolutely correct in suggesting that
just cause a guy puts out i like to score or even animal rights to some
degree
it should turn you off to really wanting to enjoy and understand
absolute classics like....welll....you name em!!!!!
then again.......
i always thought tricky was a bit overblown , self-indulgent, weird,
sort of nonsensical character who took his shit way too seriously
anyway.... so fuck em>
besides that......listen what you want and stay clear the police>
