Little delayed with this post...excuse my lazyness. My friend and I took
the train to NYC on friday to see what we could find at the Virgin
Megastore in times square. I was slightly dissapointed. There prices
weren't that great at all. There import section was mad expensive
(around 25 for ilts japan). They did have a very wide selection though.
In spite of the less than great prices I did succomb and dropped a $100
spot. I picked up Revolver England with Lovesick, Sway ect.,Revolver
Australia with the Rollo and Sister Bliss mix which is wonderful, JBT
Aus which had a huge scratch in it and half the cd skips but is good for
what i can hear, Bring Back My Happiness Single ( Junior Vasquez mix is
great ) , uziq- salsa with mesquite, westbam vs red jerry , darwin
chamber [has mixman with it really cool program check it out], aqua dr
jones single for the antiloop remix , and rockers hifi which also
includes a track for mixing in mixman , and finally United DJs of
America 3 Josh Wink they had some BT which looked good although i never
heard any i had it in my hand but put it back, when i got home i dled a
mp3 and BT is terrific..ill have to pick him up elsewhere.....and then
yet i went to St Marks Place where all the cheap small new and used cd
stores are...picked up wink simple man for 3$ and a copy of Moby for 5$
for my friend..really good deals in these places!! Anyways that was my
day in NYC fun and expensive but good music to show for it. Im on Moby
withdrawl i feel so due for a concert..i think alot about the one at
toads place in ct last year.. man that was a good time. Any idea when
hes back in the states? Moby makes me feel good.

good question...
i'm wondering about the specifics of this myself.
last i read, he had "officially" left elektra in america, and was
still looking around for a new home for his music. of course,
as soon as he left elektra, they picked up alec empire, and will
be releasing the entire dhr back catalog.... a fair trade in my book.
>can anyone tell me anything about dj cake? is it good stuff? is it

moby originally tried to get people to believe that dj cake was
not him, but he later broke down and told people the truth, that it
is in fact him.
i like the dj cake single. not as much as the lopez stuff, but i like it.
it's very repetetetetetetive...but interesting none-the-less. it doesn't really
build too much, and isn't really ecstatic or anything.... to use a moby
word.... it's "strange". i'd get it....

As for moby stuff, well I have been noticing that at the "chain" music
stores i've gone to recently there has been quite a bit of moby's stuff.
I've seen the self-titled album, rare, ar, ilts and move...but no
singles yet. But I hope they get some singles...

I know I don't post that much to the list so I'm sorry if this question has
been repeated, but I was just wondering when the new moby single was going to
be released in the states (chicago area). and also, I know a while ago people
where talking about having a party for all the mobility members, is that still
happening? Thanks for listening...

I've found good deals like those from private dealers on-line. I got two
Simple Man 12" for $12 inc. $3 postage, which amounts to 4.50 ea. I'm
also getting Move on 12" (finally! I've been looking forever!) as well
as Next Is the E, which were $8 & &10, respectively. A little high, but
I really wanted them. I'm also getting about 6 other Wink records, lots
of vinyl only stuff I've wanted to hear for 2 yrs. now. Onywoys,

You'll know as soon as we do, as the tour dates are usually posted to
this list. I enjoyed that show as well, and agree that the venue was
ideal. Moby liked House Of Blues very much too, as he states in the Live
Wire interview. He'll probably play there next time he comes here to
Chicago.

I don't know if all of these actually came out in '98 or not but
my favorite albums that I've bought this year are:
#1. Deep Forest - Comparsa
#2. Delerium - Karma
#3. Please save my earth soundtrack
#4. Escaflowne soundtrack - Over The Sky
#5. Sailor moon soundtrack - Orgel Fantasia (laugh if you will)
I always think of Moby and Bjork as my two fav artists but for the past 3
or 4 months I've been listening to Hans Zimmer's music scores, and import
anime scores more than anything else. Well, I do play EOE almost
everyday. Also i've rediscovered Orbital's in-sides, and selected ambient
works from Aphex Twin.

I've eaten at a lot of places in Vegas, but that one instance i
had the craving to consume some of Mickey D's INFAMOUS "100% All Beef
Patties (complete with bits of kangaroos)" I also ate at Burger King,
too, but only 2 bucks more expensive than over here in the Land Of
Lincoln Logs. The buffets are good, if you can stand waiting in line for
4 1/2 hours......but then again, that's why the city never sleeps,
right? I usually ate at 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning. No one's there.
Enough with my ranting. there's my .99 and I'm out.

hey i just got the new 5th aniversary edition of CMJ NMM and it has a
review for a cd by Hi Fi Killers
and it says recommended if you like Moby's JB Theme so i guess if you
like jb theme then give these guys a listen r something. anyone heard
of these guys?
anyway, in this special 5th aniversary edition, it lists some bands
that they predicted would be stars in past "on the verge" columns...
some predictions that came true:Crystal Method, Atari Teenage Riot,
Cardigans, Elliot Smith, Tortoise, Presidents USA, mu-ziq, Squirrel
Nut Zippers, Offspring, Veruca Salt, etc.
some predictions that did not come true:Monorchid, Juicy, Limblifter,
Ditchcroaker, Inbreds, Jonny Polonsky, Caterpillar, Capsize 7, etc.
thought that was interesting. wonder if they evr predicted moby in
there...

Both of them are on Concrete. The Dub Pistols made a minor splash with
"There's Gonna Be A Riot". Lionrock have 2 full-lengths out:
An Instinct For Detection (2CD)
City Delerious
I haven't heard the latest Lionrock disc-but I do have the 12" for the first
