wow! it's a funny thing u asked about this. i just got ambient today and
the enhanced CD (which i'm kinda upset about). the cd Moby is a really good
CD. it just really depends on what u r into. i'm listening to ambient
right now and i think it's pretty good.
as for the price... i'd try to find a better deal. it sounds like ur
getting ripped off. even if u r in a foreign country and it's an import,
there's better places to shop at.
OK... i think other people have had problems with the enhanced CD.
obviously, it's not really compatible with windows 95. i have plug and play
and it didn't work. it didn't really recognize it, i guess. so.. i had to
open it up on my own. the damn thing froze! i had to go through quicktime
and play all the little clips seperately! ::sigh!:: it's either the CD or
my computer (which i shouldn't talk bad about because it knows when i am and
then decides that it doesn't want to work anymore... very very picky).
well... that's my little ramble. i think those videos on the CD r pretty
interesting.... i usually have other ideas in mind with his music. someday
i'll sit down and edit a bunch of clips to one of his songs that i envision
everytime i hear it. can't remember the song.. but it looks beautiful in my
head. :)

holy fucking amazing. -well i went to SU after all, and we got there 2 1/2
hours late, just as moby was finishing up his set. i was a little mad, but i
got to hear the bond theme, and nice bongoed-out versions of everytime you
touch me and feeling so real. the best was that i got to meet him after! what
a great guy. we talked about the spice girls, the utne reader (my town
according to UR is supposedly "the most enlightened city in america," he
brought it up), criticism of AR.. hehe i told him not to pay attention.. then
i gave him this little meditation object i have, and we talked about that. haa
then i got him to sign my "monkey in my pocket" this little stuffed animal i
have, and he drew little idiot on its tummy and wrote MOBY underneath it.
other people were waiting to talk, so i gave him my email address & wrote
'thanks' underneath it with a little charicature of myself. i doubt he'll ever
write but damn was that exciting!! i always thought if i met him i'd get all
flusterd and not know what to say, but he was so down-to-earth and just ..
well.. plain *nice* -not that that's too surprising. so it was an excellent
experience, although i must say the crowd for moby was so pathetic. about 99%
of the people there were there to see wyclef (the "main act") so they were
being really rude and talking during his (moby's) set. some people were
dancing, but few and far between. a girl in front of me kept saying "yo, fuck
this techno shit!" hehe.. i'll take the techno shit, thank you!

ok.. now i'm jealous! i hope to meet moby someday. he's on my list of
musicians/bands to meet. pearl jam has been on that list forever. <sniff!>
i hope he comes to tucson someday... i really want to see him perform.
hearing all these people talk about going to his concerts or performances or
whatever u want to call them just really really upsets me because i
currently live in the middle of nowhere where the nearest city is about an
hr away. but, it has its advantages. no pollution and no noise. beautiful
sunsets, too.
sorry about that post earlier. it was meant for clay but my mail program
kinda went screwy. sometimes having outlook express isn't the greatest.
so... don't get confused and think u missed something, u didn't. sorry
about that again! :)

well, in feeling so real you know the part right before "iii'm feling so
reeeal" where its like ahhh-ah-ahhh-ah..ahhh-ahhh-ahhh-ahhh (if that made any
sense at all.. well he stretched that out and played it over about 4 times
more than usual.. everytime you touch me was a little stripped down, but over
it he was saying things like "my love.." "when you're here.." etc little
phrases over the music.. he was playing along on the bongoes, and im almost
positive he knocked his keyboard over at the end (i was waaay on the right
side, he was waaaay on the left at that point).. i thought his "band" was
really on, moreso when i saw them in ny last december, im just upset i ddint
get to hear any AR but im not complaining..
that's all i can seem to remember, i think i was sun-baked, im definitly sun-
burned..

my favorite place to buy uk imports is COW.
they're page is pretty low-fi....and they may seem like
a scam at first, but i've ordered from them, and got
my cds in only 2 weeks.
they are based in the uk, and prices are listed in uk
pounds, but will convert them to dollars for you, and you'll
end up saving money in the long run.
for example, most cd singles are 4.99.
most albums are 13.99.
here's their adress:
http://www.cow.co.uk/audio.htm
they've got all the voodoo child releases listed including the
"dog heaven" single which i love to death.

i'm so glad to hear someone else voted for ambient, too, cos that's
what i'd recommend. after that i guess i'd go with rare/go as someone
else suggested. as far as i remember it's either two CDs for the price
of one or 2 for the price of one and a half.

You can get it from the source at MuteBank. Various online stores also
carry it. I have a list of some at http://www.moby.org/merc.html

Whether you choose _Moby_, _Ambient_, or _Early Underground_, you really
can't go wrong. Each album is distinctly different from the others, but
they are all so good that I wouldn't want to miss any of them. I guess
you should try to buy them in the order I just listed (Moby, Ambient, EU).

That's a terrible price! Why don't you order it from an Internet music
store instead? Even with shipping, you'll probably end up with a much
better deal. I've been shopping for music online since 1994, and have
had very few bad experiences (I don't recommend CD Banzai, CD Europe,
or CD Teleshop, but they are tryable as a last resort).

More info on the Clash tribute CD...sounds inviting.
With Joe Strummer having final approval, a tribute album to his old band the
Clash is being readied for Aug. 25 release by Epic Records. The most
intriguing entry is a collaboration by rappers Ice Cube and Mack 10 with
hard-rock band Korn on "Should I Stay or Should I Go?" Others on board
include No Doubt, 311, the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Rancid, Moby with
Heather Nova, the Indigo Girls and Silverchair. The project will in part
benefit the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles High Risk Youth Program.
