I believe Moby was allowed to choose which tracks were released, but not
anything else.

I think they all have them because I got mine in 93 and it had the
sticker then too.

I love that quote!!! It really tells you a lot about Moby. I have that
article clipped out and just now read it again. I remember smiling
after reading that article back then. I love the way that man thinks.
I never got to read that Details interview with Moby. :( Would I still
be able to find it somewhere? Hopefully?
HA! I still have my MOVE sticker and it's in very good condition. I
also have some others from when I wrote him. What do you guys prefer?
The new or old logo? I personally prefer the old one. It seems more
solid. The new one looks weak. Just my opinion.
MOVE is also the best Moby album so far, in my opinion. My favorite
song on that would be "All That I Need Is To Be Loved (MV)" though.
Then its track #'s 4, 6, 1, 3, and then 5.

Why is everyone asking to be taken off the list?
I mean, I know I'm not Damien or anything, but I still hate to see so
many people leaving.
Is it because of the Moby DAT discussion? Hell, I knew about that before
I even joined the list. The way I look at it is:
sure, I'd prefer it if he did EVERYTHING live, but so what? It's MOBY!!!
He's not Milli Vanilli! It's HIM doing it all, he just can't do it all
at once!
Also, I saw him perform at The Edge nightclub in Palo Alto on Nov. 18,
and he performed with a LIVE BAND. And at the end he did his AWESOME
"Thousand" act.
Look, I'm a performance poet, and sometimes I write stuff set to
prerecorded music, and since I can't play any musical instruments, I
just play it on house speakers while I perform, and the crowds love it.
I also perform with live bands every now and then.
So the fact that some of Moby's act is on DAT doesn't really bug me.
It DID bother me a lot when I first heard about it, but I've realized
that it really isn't that big a deal.
Please don't leave, everyone! I like this list!

BT is an up and coming dj who did the song "Blue Skies" with Tori Amos. His
name is Brian Transeau. If you have a chance you must check him out, he
rocks!!!! I saw him with Crystal Method a few weeks ago and had the chance to
meet him. There are not words to describe how unbelievable he is live. Not
too many people know about him, he's gettin' out there though cause he has a
number 2 song on the Billboard dance charts...it's called "Remember".
Anyway...check him out, you won't be disappointed!

OKAY BT
i've responded to a couple people personally cuz i didn't think BT was
moby but here goes for all
and since BT is like one of MOBY's fave fellow artists
i think this needs be done>
brian transeau or something like that
i believe from maryland
an american i'd say
played classical as a boy and grew into pop, punk, and break-beat
b-boy stuff
dj'ed and started mixing it all up
the one thing about bt that separates him from moby especially
and everybody else really
is that he is such a damned great pianist and he has this signature sort
of dream space that uses it alot
i really like much of his new cd escm
as it is very exploratory
loysa styles and attitudes and all done to a t
my fave song being >nectar< which takes a seemingly nice but typical
trance type 303 start and mysteriously works a vocal guitar phrase
that is really hypnotic and almost pop-ish into it>
IMA is my favorite cuz it was like first love
and it flows into a huge continuum of house (which is not my fave style)
and trance explorations that ends with a big lush and
hopeful vocal bit at the end about
really loving you
it comes with a bonus cd with the tori amos collaboration
which i hope is still available cause
virgin or whoever got pissed that bt would work with a nobody
aren't these labels so stupid sometimes?
my first real listen and it was absolute instant
love was bt's world famous remix of mike oldfield's
let there be light
which i found in a bargain bin for1.99
2 12" four versions maybe 5
i was so absolutely convinced he was the man
i couldn't stop playing it anytime i really had to get hyped>
i just hope his next album is a little less
jumpin around all over the place
which is almost a complaint i have with moby sometimes
like everything is right is all good songs i just wish that that
the rock stuff wasn't sandwiched between the massive dance stuff
it makes for an uneven listening experience>
but i'm glad those songs are there
so that's bt

I wouldn't know. It's probably way too late to order a backissue,
and so your best bet would be to search libraries.

Agreed. The new one would be cool *if* he didn't already have a
logo. But he already had such a great (simpler, better) logo that
I don't understand why it was replaced.

Moby's changed a lot in the past 2 years; he's gotten into minimalist
techno, repetative house, classical "bay-area-musician" style keyboard riffs
& more guitar-based material. I think the logo change was a great idea-it
reflects the constantly changing man. It's far more organic (and much
cooler looking) than the older, lego-logo....

I don't think they're leaving because of any questions about moby's
integrity. I think they've just lost interest. If it were because of the DAT
issue, we'd see more debating and then they'd dis Moby because they were
disillusioned. Or something along those lines. If they've lost interest, let
them leave, we're only clogging mailboxes. Besides, we want people
interested so we can have lively, thoughtful discussions & debates. Two
people have asked to leave. I just joined Tuesday and I'm trying to
contribute as much useful, interesting, on-topic info & opinions as I can.
If the people who are interested contribute, this list won't die. I doesn't
appear to be, anyway.

"Lovesick" is a minute-long burst of distorted, pained guitar music
(like "In My Life", but fast). "Displaced" is a short acoustic
guitar piece that is quiet and sad. "Sway" is an excellent moody
piece that has a muffled beat and nice bassline. "Sway" is what
really makes the first single worthwhile, since...
