Is anyone here doing any new remixes of Moby's tracks?
I remember someone was doing "Say It's All Mine"
I just finished another mix of the track "80" on the Ambient cd.
The remix is 140 BPM as compared to the original as the track
suggests 80 BPM.
Let's get some new remixes going...

Personally, I like Goldie, but the future of D n' B is really
either Spring Heel Jack or LTJ Bukem. I haven't heard any of Goldie's new
stuff because no one I know has even heard of it and no station around here
plays it on a regular basis. Goldie is good, though. SHJ is amazing
(breathtaking) and Bukem is beautiful, so there's my opinion.
BTW, I just bought Fatboy Slim's new album "Better Living Through
Chemistry" the other day, and that is one of the finest albums I've heard
in a while. I think I'm going to buy the Propellerheads next.

Goldie's stuff is bottom of the barrel crap!
There are producers out there doing amazing d'n'b.

I just wanted to get back to everyone regarding the issue of where
reply's are sent to as a default.
When the responses first started coming in, the opinions were quite
mixed. But in the end, keeping things as they are seemed to win out.
It's my opinion that the response would need to be stronger in order to
make this kind of a change. Therefore, the list will continue to
automatically send reply's back to everyone.
Please remember that if you have a response that is meant for the
original sender, you must change the address MANUALLY. We all need to
keep this in mind and probably use it a bit more often. Many thanks to
everyone who took the time to write me with his or her opinion. Thank
you.

Oh, I absolutely see where you're coming from there. There's a great group
around Kansas City called Brittainika I've recently become fond of. I was
just saying GOLDIE's music seemed to me to be the antithesis of dance music,
as it is electronically based music that is nearly impossible to dance to.

Let's put together some stats, to compare & discuss, shall we?
I'll begin with the following question:
What is your favorite Into the Blue mix?
I like the Spiritual mix the best, Simple mix next. Of remixes done of the
song by others besides Moby, I like Jr. Vasquez's Follow Me mix. The Jon
Spencer "Into the Blues" is a nifty novelty, and I'm glad I have Summer
Night for when I'm in my piano mood. Because I'm holding out on getting EIW
so I can get it with Underwater, I haven't heard the original in about a
year and a half, yet I have two UK single disks. (Neither w/ Shining)

next.
Just to have the gorgeous version of Go (I'm sure several people
will
disagree on this one though)...
Is it comparable to any version of Go on the disk that came with
Rare?

In my opinion I would get the Move EP, my favorite.
I was so blown away by that in 93 when it came out!
There is only one track that has two versions, otherwise it
will be much more exiting than any of the singles where it's
all one or two songs with diff remixes of them....
The best track I think is "Morning Dove" which is a very
tribal sounding beat with layers and layers of weird sounds.
Also the first version of AINITBL is the best one too...

Subject: Re: (mobility) MOVE
I definitely suggest you get MOVE first!!!
"(You Make Me Feel So Good)" is pure and simply Moby. Once you hear it,
you know it's a Moby track. It definitely blends his old stuff with the
new. It's like the thread that connects them. A very impressive
transition point Moby has done with it. And I think the whole album
represents that transition.
"All That I Need Is To Be Loved (MV)" I think would probably be the best
Moby song if I had to choose one. It's just my opinion, but I think he
totally messed it up when he put it in Animal Rights. You (well, at
least I can) totally feel all of what this song is worth! Moby says
that this is his love song to God and man is it powerful!
"Morning Dove" is quite interesting with all it's layers and wierd
sounds as Paul says. Very tribal and almost unlike Moby but because
it's unique makes it special. I find it best to hear this on surround
sound. Get yourself in the middle of all the speakers and just feel it!
"(Disco Threat)" is just plain beautiful!!! Who does not love disco!
Moby took a great song and made it even better! It's hip, cool, and
it's very easy to get your groove on with this one. Oh yeah, I can feel
it baby!!!
"Unloved Symphony" I can see why he titled it the way he did. I know
most people would have a hard time getting to like this one. It's a
blend of two things that doesn't necessarily belong together. I have to
admit that the first part is kind of greusome and that it doesn't almost
work, but by the end I think Moby manages to smooth out the rough spots.
And finally, "The Rain Falls And The Sky Shudders." The title itself is
so poetic! Whenever I listen to this one, I imagine myself at a
sidewalk cafe in New York City, while raining and everyone is stuck in
traffic honking their horns. It's very chilly, but the latte warms you
right up while you sit back and watch everything and everyone going by.
All in slow motion! I can even smell the piss!!! ;)
Well, that's my take on it. Wait, now I'm thinking that I might have
scared you from buying it! Oh well, I liked it and that's what counts!

No it's not at all like anything on Rare.
The version of "Go" on "Come on Baby" was recorded Live at the Splash Club
in London. And it is totally awesome!
In fact, that whole single is awesome! Anyone who doesn't have it should go
out and get it! The Eskimos & Egypt 7" mix is probably my favorite version
of the song "Come on Baby". What a great CD!
I think I'll listen to it right now, actually!

Subject: Re: (mobility) Moby sinks Titanic!
Okay, here's my explanation to the subject:
First of all, I do admit to the fact that everyone raving about the
movie is making me sick. But that is after the fact that I did go out
and watched the movie myself. I'm my own person and I can make up my
own mind, thank you.
As far as saying "woohooo." I said that because I actually found
someone else who didn't like the movie. The fact that it was Moby was
great, but I still would have said it if it wasn't Moby. I have not
seen Spiceworld and I don't think I'll see it until it comes out on
video because from the trailers, it doesn't at all seem interesting for
$7.50.
I don't deny the fact that Leo is talented. And all I can give Cameron
is an "A" for effort. I didn't like the movie because it was flat and
full of holes. Like, you know, a slice of swiss cheeze! Hello!!! I've
seen more plot twists in a Beavis and Butthead episode! The plot was so
weak!!!
Now grant it a huge boat like that takes a long time to sink, but the
story could have been more developed to use up all that three hours of
overstretched time waiting to see the "action," which was weak and
personally offensive to me.
I mean, they could have edited that one scene where the guy falls and
hits the propeller blades. The Titanic was a tragedy, not some cheap,
slapstick comedy. It was sickening to hear the audience laugh when that
scene played. I don't know, maybe it was the company I was with.
I apologize for the tidal wave of responses to the little pebble I
dropped in, simply commenting on how Moby has good tastes. Well,
sometimes... Groove on ppls! - Alvin

You are pretty uptight there, but Titanic and Spice Girls and whatever
came up because they WERE directly related to Moby - things he has
said recently, and if everyone wants to talk about it they will-
go ahead and try to talk about PC Lamer or whatever, see if anyone
cares, I don't think we are all as uptight as you. It's just that
no one will answer anything they are NOT interested in.

sorry, but I was rather enjoying all the fuss and haven't said
anything about titanic- but I was sure thinking about it.
