i would highly recommend it..empirion (one of my current favs) and leftfield
have some baddass cuts on it..also even though no moby on it ..I would
recommend the digital empire 2 cd set with tracks from electric skychurch,
keoki, fluke, bt, derrick may, prodigy, propellerheads and a bunch of
others..
i personnally think it is funny as hell that moby likes hanson, spice girls
and puff daddy..maybe he will do a punk version of mmmbop...that would be a
trip

well, i wasn't going to say anything, but since it came up, here it is. just
a few weeks ago, i went to see BT and crystal method in norwalk, here in CT.
i was on BT's guest list, as was moby, as i later found out. after BT's set,
the three of us (and several other people backstage) were sitting around
talking, and just for the hell of it, we started a little discussion about
movies. so for those of you interested, BT's absolute favorite movie right
now is Good Will Hunting -- he insisted i go out and see it (he was right --
damn fine film ...). now we come to our beloved moby ... he saw Titanic, and
to quote (perhaps slightly paraphrase) him, it was "absolutely worthless." on
the flipside, however, he saw Spice World, and said it was "a perfect,
wonderful, beautiful movie." yep, you heard me ... i asked him if he was
kidding, and i was then told how great he thinks they are, and how he wants to
remix them ... which would be something to hear, because we all know the man
can mix; i mean, people such as david morales and junior vasquez have already
remixed the spice girls, so moby could do one hell of a job of putting them
out on the dance floor ... just thought you might be interested ... peace.

I thought Moby only remixes groups/songs he hates... what's up with that?

Moby mentioned the fact that he'd like to remix some stuff that he hated I
believe, but not exclusively. Aphex Twin is the one who likes to only remix
material he can't stand....

To be honest, no.
Both Hackers discs are a pretty good collection of widely available tracks;
but beyond that there's nothing exceptional on them. Of course I've never
been able to find the version of Orbital 1 with the Speed Freak mix on it;
so I'll probably end up getting it....

Micronaut? As in the Micronaut's remix of Block Rockin' Beats by the
Chemmies?
As much as I dig Mr. Randall (seen him 2x, met him once) I really don't
think he's got that kind of innovation in him. The Micronaut's worked some
magic on that track, but hey-maybe it is him...
BTW-What did you think of Metropolis? I ask because I absolutely hated
Burn....

Let me rephrase, if only slightly. By techno, I was refering to Goldie's
drum and bass stuff, the stuff that's loud, obnoxious, and has percussion
moving at all kinds of off-kilter rhythms. Of course I like end of
everything, I LOVE Little Idiot. I have no real frame of reference for
Goldie's ambient works, as I have never heard them. But, as seems to be the
general concensus here, I don't think his dnb stuff succeeds as art *or*
dance music.

Ha--me too. I'm not wasting my money and my time. cheesy love story
played up hollywood style. I mean please, where can the plot go? We all
know the boat is going to sink...talk about an unsuspensful 3 hours. I
met Harvey Keitel the other day--he thinks
it sucks, along with most other expensive and lame hollywood flicks--yahoo
for independent film makers. As for Spiceworld, what is moby thinking?
I'm not even touching that with a ten foot pole.

Me too. I dont feel bad cause Moby and me dont like the same things, and
wouldnt feel better if we liked the same things. Cant understand why do
you feel "woohoo" for that.
If we all were the same, life would be so boring... The important thing
is that I liked Titanic because of it, and not because everybody said it
was cool.
Jonathan.
P.S.: Just a thought, dont take it too seriously.
ObMoby: I have read on the list that Moby use the car as little as
possible, and I wondered if he goes on bike whenever he can.

I concur on the Hollywood / money/ unsuspenseful bit.
Regarding spice world, I think the spice girls are an evil marketing
travesty and one must posess an amazing LACK of intelligence to become
enthralled by that pathetic 90's female version of New Kids on the block.
And yet... I may see the movie at the cheap show. I'll bring headphones so I
won't have to listen. It'll just be a two-hour hard-on.

Have any of you heard the Moby mixes on this Heads single? I got it
about two weeks ago and I've enjoyed it many times now #2 (Moby Sad Gospel)
and #4 (Moby Deep Melodic)
I like Deep Melodic better of the two but they're both great. Opinions?
Question: I've been searching for the UK David Bowie Earthling single. I may
have to order it as it's not in my local stores. Is it worth my effort? If I
understand correctly there's only one Moby remix on it....
Question: What Moby should I get next: Move EP, Everytime You Touch Me, or
UK Bond single. These are the three on the racks near me that I don't
have... Oh yeah, and the Come On Baby single w/ Whip It (Death Metal), two
Splash club songs, and the Eskimos & Egypt mix. Make any suggestions, I can
always look harder.

That's a horribly elitist attitude!
I can understand being turned off by all of the hype; that's the reason I
still haven't seen it (I plan on it though). But there *is* a lot of merit
behind it. Cameron has always made good pictures-and I'm sure there's a lot
of people that can't stand Leonardo DiCaprio. I really want to dislike him
as well; but all you've got to do is watch Gilbert Grape to remind yourself
that there's a seriously talented guy there....
Ok. That's it.

Everyone together now:
M-O-V-E !!!!!!!
99% of the list will say the same thing, it's an amazing EP.
Once you have that I'd personally say that Come On Baby should be next.
Just to have the gorgeous version of Go (I'm sure several people will

Gilbert Grape was an excellent film. Like you said, I was turned

Leonardo "He's so hot!" & He's the best actor EVER!" & Let's not forgot,
"But I've only seen it eight times" has inspired arather negative attidute
in me. But I suppose I'll give it a chance one of these days instead of
letting both media and family noise lead me to unfair judgements.

I really like Goldie, i got his new album "Saturnz Return" and i think
it's one of the this years best albums. I also like Metalheadz stuff
(like Dillinja, J Majik etc . They all are great. I also like Roni Size
reprazent, it's good to see how different kind of jungle can also
