Of the list track,
Has anyone heard the new Madonna track, i think its called "frozen". I heard
it this morning and it sounds alot like Olive. I already want to remix it.
Turn it into some good prog. house or trancey breakbeat tracks.

One night i was with my ex girlfriend who was moving the next day. I was
listening to GMOTFOTW and i just sorta stopped everything to remember that
moment. Here i was losing my girlfriend of over a year to a few hundred miles
and this song was still only out for a few days at the time. I think of her
everytime I hear it. Its one of the most moving peices of music i know. Hymn
(european mix) is also a great dance piece that i've never danced to, and
never will. When Its Cold I'd LIke To Die is a no brainer...
Whoever it was that posted that they really liked Say Its All Mine alot, i've
done a remix caled the "Ozone Mix" I've been talking with a certain member of
this list and will be making a couple of my mixes available to everyone.

I gotta say, as for the tears part, First Cool Hive off of "everything is
wrong" get me everytime....I always get chills everytime the vocals come
in....(I also Love the first two tracks on The End of Everything...I would
tell you the names of them, but
a DJ here in Chicago is borrowing it.....BAH!)
Two songs that set me in the biggest trance and I could listen to forever are
Ah-Ah and I feel it (synthe mix)....pop those in and Fil is ready to go......

Aphex Twin doesn't do remixes; he has so many tracks recorded on his
computer that he just loads one up that has a few similarities and calls it
a remix. :) Seriously, that's his method. He's admitted to doing a
Lemonheads "remix" where the postman showed up at his door and asked for the
tape, he told them to hold on for 5 minutes, fished out some archaic tape of
his works, and gave it to the guy. :) Evan Dando wasn't exactly pleased. :P

Subject: (mobility) concert question
sorry that this is off the subject of moby but i am going to a CRYSTAL
METHOD and BT(david holmes) concert this friday the 20 in dc and was
wondering if it would have any moshing to crowd surfing. or would it be
more like a rave dance type thing. this is the first, more or
less, techno concert and want an overview of the bands performances. now
don't get me wrong i have heard their music but wanted to know how the
crowd reacts to a electronica concert involving CRYSTAL METHOD and BT.
To make this somewhat involve moby(the man) earlier i read a post that
wanted to know who could remix some of moby's stuff and i came up with
two good ones
MEAT BEAT MANIFESTO
TRENT REZNOR(a mortal god) yes believe it or not i feel that trent and
moby would make an interesting duo. being that trent is becoming more
and more involved with the electronica sound(which i love from trent)!

Yup. God Moving Over The Face Of The Waters always does it for me. Unloved
Symphony always does it for me; whenever I listen to it, I always get a
visualization of a person, running in what appears to be a mix of hatred and
desperation, through a snowy forest or countryside. The person climbs up a
harrowingly dangerous and steep rock surface. When they reach the top,
there's a beautiful shot of the distance and a rapidly running river below.
As the song climaxes and goes through the major change halfway through, the
person suddenly jumps off the surface, filled with tears of happiness at the
release of the suffering that is life. The daydream ends with a shot of some
birds on the horizon, flying behind a gray sky starting to give way to a
streak of beautiful red shades...
Sorry if I was overdramatic, but if anyone here directs films/short clips,
possibly an idea? :P Send me the results if so.

Heh...almost forgot...
The first time I heard Anthem (Cinematic Mix) I started crying my eyes out
for no apparent reason. I've come to realize that at the time it seemed a
reflection of my daily futile struggle to make it in this society. I've
never been able to listen to it without crying. I'm also pretty moved by
Move (Electro Mix). Thousand makes me want to kill people; similar to
listening to Atari Teenage Riot or any other good hardcore/gabber. :)
The tracks that make me want to dance the most are probably:
1. Voodoo Child (Poor In NY Mix)
2. Move (You Make Me Feel So Good)
3. All that I Need Is To Be Loved (MV)
4. Bring Back My Happiness
5. Into The Blue (Uplifting 4-Beat Mix) <-- OK, Moby didn't remix it. Too bad ;P
6. Next Is The E (Club Mix)
7. Feeling So Real (Ecstatic Mix)
8. Horses
9. Ah-Ah
10. Have You Seen My Baby

Oh, God yes.
"Into the Blue" rips my heart out everytime I hear it, "Shining" fills my chest
with such an incredible feeling...
"Everytime You Touch Me" (Beatmasters' 7" mix) is the sort of song that makes me
love life,
I LOVE "Reject" off "End of Everything"...
I could go on forever.
"Ah-ah", "Go" (I Like to Score mix), "Alone", "Say It's All Mine", "Old",
whoever it was that described Moby's music as "soul wrenching" could not have
said it better.
Oh, and thank you everyone who helped me figure out a good vegetarian diet. I've
already started.

Hello xaq...
I usually read your mobility e-mail, because I find your quotes
quite cute. I assume that you go to the U of Minnesota, but I could be wrong.
I have a good friend who is a freshman there, but I am (unfortunately) still a
senior here in St.Paul. Well, if, in fact you are from MN, I was curious if
you saw MObY and Juno Reactor down @ 1st Ave.? I did, and I thought it was an
excellent show that he put on...I really enjoyed it. Hmmm, if you have no idea
what I am talking about, disregard this.... otherwise, e-mail me back, if you
want.
Hope to talk to you soon!

Subject: (mobility) Madonna electronica
I don't think Madonna is "trying" to get into the electronica thing at all.
Sure, the song has the hallmark "electronica" elements in it, more so than
her previous songs, but the fact is that Madonna has always been using
keyboards and dancey bits. Look at "Borderline" or "Lucky Star" for
example. I easily consider those as contenders in the new-wave synth-pop
battles of the 80's. I'm not saying that Madonna is in the same league as
Depeche Mode, Erasure, or other synth-pop groups of that stature, just that
Madonna is no stranger to electronics in music. I do think that Bush, on
the other hand, jumped on the electronica train BIG TIME with their
"Deconstructed". And this is because their previous efforts had hardly a
smidgen of electronics (synths) in them (I can't recall any use of synths.
Correct me if you think of something.) But about Madonna's song again, even
though it has electronica sounds in it, it still sounds fresh, new. And
that is what I like about it. RRR
ps. I've just put up what I call "a simple symposium" on Marilyn Manson and
my reaction to society's misconceptions theirof. You can read this at the
belowmentioned site. And no, I don't get any "hitpoints" for you going
there, I don't even have a counter, so this is not a publicity stunt.
Purely for your information. I have remnants from Manson's appearance on
Bill Maher's "Politically Incorrect" that you may also find amusing. (The
counter on the page is fake, for amusement only.) RRR
ps. Sorry for the lack of Moby content, but taking into account what's
being talked about on the list right now, I think this message is suitable
and excusable. RRR

I must say that feeling so real moves me like no other, especially the
"take me away" break down in the middle--I love putting that song on full
blast, laying on my bed with my eyes closed, and just imagining the look I
saw on Moby's face when he "sang" that

I also am a big fan of track number 2 and 5 (slow suicide?) on the end of
everything, when its

I have done remixes of the tracks "80" and "Bad Days" from the ambient

I think the Moby songs that most move me are the two already mentioned
numerous times (GMOTFOTW and When It's Cold...) but, even more so, Oil 1.
The trak has a wonderful, relaxing quality to it, and a great trancy feel,
but it still has a solid driving force and a consistent motion to it. I
think this combination of Trancy feel and solid propulsive force is one of
the most difficult things to achieve in music. Yet another example of the
great skill and talent of our friend Moby. I have also been very
impressed by the versions of Anthem on EIW, both the standard US release
and the 2-cd remix album.
