  158. inferno) with into the void, and i do see what you mean about thousand,
  159. although in all fairness to delta 9, he (D-9) does exclusively
  160. hardcore/speedcore/gabba, whereas thousand is just about the only hardcore
  161. moby song i can think of... actually, i met him at a rave in CT last year, and
  162. he is absolutely one of the nicest people i've ever met.

  174. "i like to score" was reviewed in the current (feb.) issue of the
  175. magazine Future Music.
  176. they gave it a 7/10, and there was a picture to accompany it that
  177. i have never seen before and WANT to see bigger.
  178. it was moby, dressed as a jiggalo porn director from teh 70s, posed
  179. next to a tall blonde topless woman with stars covering her nipples.
  180. a must see pic!  moby has this grand ol' smile on his face and is
  181. giving the camera a thumbs up.

  183. well, here's what they had to say about the album:

  185.         ever the oddish, richard hall's latest uses the old soundtracks
  186.         links as an excuse to bundle glories past and present and tag
  187.         them with that amusing album title.  which isn't quite as 
  188.         desperate as it sounds, particularly when you remember that 
  189.         moby's first big hit, "Go", was inspired by Twin Peaks.
  190.         
  191.         that seminal track gets another outing here, alongside his lovely
  192.         ambient work from the movie Heat (including a cover of joy
  193.         division's "New Dawn Fades"), the inimitable "Love Theme" and a
  194.         chart-denting reworking of Monty Norman's original James Bond
  195.         Theme, and you've got an album that's no real competition for 
  196.         "Everything is Wrong", but is certain to please fans more than his
  197.         last punk-infected long player.

  298. "Go" was not inspired by Twin Peaks.  Moby just used the Twin Peaks
  299. theme when remixing it.  The original 1990 "Go" doesn't have anything
  300. to do with Twin Peaks.  Argh.

  304. And why is "Go" always referred to as a 'seminal' track?  I'll tell
  305. you why.  It's because the official Mute/Elektra sales pitch -- er,
  306. biography -- said it.  Reviewers often seem to just remix the
  307. official blurb, so to speak, and then add heaping helpings of
  308. their own ponderous superlatives.

  314. As I say, just load 'em down with excessive superlativage, add a
  315. dash of nonsense, and hope that most people go "What a brilliant
  316. review, he must know what he's talking about.  Too bad I don't."

  318. I don't mean to lash out at reviewers, and I know how hard it can
  319. be to think of words to describe music.  Just felt like pointing
  320. a couple things out about common "Go" misconceptions and got a
  321. little carried away. ;)
  322.  
  323. BTW, about 3 weeks ago I mentioned that somebody was emphatically
  324. claiming that Depeche Mode will break up this year as soon as
  325. their "Best Of" album is released.  This person claimed to have
  326. very reliable sources, but would not cite them, presumably to
  327. protect their identities.  Well, it turned out to be a troll.
  328. Depeche Mode is not splitting up as far as anyone knows.  Sorry
  329. for (unknowingly) spreading misinformation.
  330.  
  331. BTW2, I just thought of something funny (Orb fans will get it,
  332. at least).  Wouldn't it be nice if Moby were remixed by the Orb?
  333. If they collaborated, the release could be called "Morby"! =-)

  392. Those specific versions ofcourse. Since it's mixed with "two turntables
  393. and a mixer" they are all available on vinyl, right?

  396. versions (including an acoustic performance on MTV Europe) and I have 13
