This bounced because the address used in posting it to the mailing list
is not subscribed. However, I've decided to forward it so no-one misses
out on watching this show.
BTW, Viva Variety is only available on the Comedy Channel (meaning its
on satellite or cable).

Hey did anyone see Moby on Comedy Central..
I actually liked it.. He played 'Revolver' and he actually sang the words
of course.. not that stupid 'realize its over' crap. I even noticed he
gets these huge big pulsating veins along his eyes when he sings :)
Well night

uhm, the only place you'll hear 'realize it's over' is on mtv. everywhere
else doesn't deem a reference to a gun offensive enough to censor out.

I know that... Im just saying that because of what mtv did.. and so
everyone else who ONLY watches mtv knows..
Im wondering if he was able to get on Viva Variety and play that song,
maybe he could squeeze in on Leno or Letterman.. or even Conan.. Conan
always lets the less popular (mainstream) in.. meaning bands people havent
always heard of..

i think this is a great idea. i agree that they probably wouldn't do
anything about it, but what the hell? at least they'd know we were here

Hello,
Has anyone heard this version of Move? I remember seeing that it was over 5
minutes long... I was thinking about buying Trance Europe Express. Is this
really a longer mix of Move or is it just a typo? Thanks!

I really is over 5 minutes, and it's my favorite version of Move. It's
really laid back and simple. More so than the Electro Mix. Moby plays
bongo drum in this version.

If Moby is on this list...how come he doesn't let us know who he is? I don't
mean to be to nosey, but it would be nice to see what he thinks of all of
this.
Side note; I found and old Project X mag with an EIW interview. It has great
pics of Moby and his Mom Betsy.
I can't believe he has 150 albums worth of unreleased material....would love
to get my hands on it.

There are some other good tracks too. There's a funny cover of
Throbbing Gristles's Persuasion by Billie Ray Martin and Spooky.
There's also an Aphex Twin track called Analogue Bubblebath 3,
which is just ambient noise all the way through. There's a remix of
Majestic by the Orb, but I think the original is better. But there is
a really good remix by the Orb of a Bill Laswell track on that comp.

Hello all,
I have six copies of the "Come On Baby" limited 2CD set for sale. I had
been searching for one copy ever since the set was released. When I
finally got one I decided to go nuts and see if I could get more... well
three months later I recieved ten copies. Four have already been sold,
now I'm offering the rest to the list.
The cost is $20 US dollars for one copy. This includes shipping if
located within the the US or Canada. I will only accept checks or money
orders. And of course, if anyone outside of the US or Canada wants one,
I would be happy to work with you on it.

that move mix is also on "textures." it's on the disk mixed by darren
emerson. i thought that it was a pretty lame set of disks, so i don't
recommend buying it just for the one song.

what is moby's mix of "beat it" on? that sounds really interesting...i

For the completist who wants the Volume Mix of Move, just get Trance
Europe Express. Many of the tracks on there now seem dated, but it
includes tracks from various good artists including Orbital, Aphex
Twin, The Orb, and Moby, in *unmixed*, unadultered form.
BTW, this TEX version of Move is not merely a longer version of Move
(You Make Me Feel So Good). It is a remix, with entirely different
and more mellow instrumentation, as is Moby's remixing style. The
mix is quite good, but there are better mixes out there somewhere if
you can find them. Get the 12" of Move if you can, because it's
worth its weight in gold. Almost. :)

It was originaly called (Subversion). I have a tape
of a Moby interview with that information. Moby's mix
of Beat It can be found on the 12" Michael Jackson
single Who Is It(also mixes from Moby)
In fact I have 3 different radio interviews with Moby
about 45 minutes each. 1992,1993 and 1995. One even includes
a live studio mix!!! These tapes are priceless to me.
But I don't have any Moby live shows on tape.
Does anyone want to trade a copy of a live show for these
interview tapes.

Agreed, I think Moby would speak up. However, DEF is subscribed to the
list and the MOBESTER could easily be "watching" that way among other
ways. But then again, I can't see Moby watching and not be vocal
(something he does so well). And Brad... you're a tease! <G>

Yeah, I'll think about it. But I would definitely want the full 'unmixed'
version of it if I did buy it. Sounds like a good track. I would love to pick
up all of Moby's material (Move 12") but I just don't have the money! You have

I don't know if you read all my stories about that concert but I

was alot mopre intimater than on the big stupid stage with like 6 feet b/t
you and the stage even if you're in the front row.

I know. I spent half my time there (which as we all know was
short) making fun of these idiotic twelve year olds wearing there best
Contempo Casuals gibbering about Better Than Ezra. I admit it I'm a music

i was in the very front and there were like 4 men in their fourties
with earplugs in standign htere next to me watching these stupid boys
trying to mosh. It was pathetic. Whne Moby said 'alternative music is
dead,' it was like 'duh, look all around us.'

I'm in CT too where in CT are you? Did you go to the big rave type
thing last night (6/20) at Hartford Jai-Alai? They had 4 rooms -- an
ambient room, a house room, a hardcore/jungle room, and a local DJs room.
It was about as good as the CT techno scene gets.

Hi,
The one thing I didn't like about punk was the "greenday" type of
voices...that's what so great about Mobys......He just sounds amazing amidst
the thrashing guitar.
I was just thinking of what his next cd would sound like if he mixed the rock
and the techno...<g> Atari Teenage Riot.........I can't wait to see the
"please no" replies...

you won't hear any "please no"'s from me!
ATR are a great band and i'd like to hear moby to something similar
to their style.
as for the next moby album, i'm predicting a more classical style of
ambient with maybe more live sounding strings and simple melodic
acoustic guitar work. and to throw things off balance, more dancier
industrial type electro guitar rock instead of death metal or punk.
and hopefully, less drum machines and mic reverb.
love,
ryu
