  68. find out soon enough. i'm sayrah,.. i've been reading awhile but this is
  69. post numero uno.. i sort of wanted to comment on the issue of moby's
  70. alleged 'hypocrisy.'
  71.     ..every human on this funked-out planet of ours is born & raised
  72. a hypocrite. think of how boring we would be if we weren't>! always
  73. worrying about some damn thing or another, and what pl might think if we
  74. stray from our mold.  saying that one cannot be into punk and ambient
  75. simultaneously is utter *shite*>!  i think that music is like art.. there
  76. may be complementary colors, but it's so much more fun to clash.. 
  77.     which leads to the rap thang.. sorry i don't remember who said it
  78. but i also dig the grandmaster and mel... its like a jungle sometimes, it
  79. makes me wonder how i keep from goin under.. somethin like a phenomenon,

  135. there it was like 45 minutes.  these little 'alternative format' radio
  136. stations do the *worst* organization job!  They're always running late and
  137. no one knows where anything is!!  Sorry to get off the subject.  I'd like
  138. to say keep yr friend, its more important, but under the circumstances I
  139. don't know if I would.
  140.         I wonder what Moby thinks about all this stuff being played at
  141. basketball games.  Moby on the next Jock Jams CD???  I don't know if that
  142. would be really good or really bad.  Probably good for us and bad for him.
  143.         The rap thing...I think ryu put all those reasons why hiphop sucks
  144. and I'd have to agree.  I go to a private school that's pretty much all
  145. white kids listening to B.I.G. and Cypress...you get sick of it soo fast.
  146.         One last thing as long as we're identifying what we do in terms of
  147. Moby -- I am NOT at all Christian (celebrate Christmas but have never been
  148. to church ever) and I eat meat.
  149.         Ok one really really last thing.  I read the Moby/Porn thing in RS.
  150. I found it kind of tragically bizarre.  I guess I thouhgt he'd be above
  151. thaty kind of stuff.  And I can't believe all those girlfriends!!  Who'd of
  152. thunk...they took that photo from the Spin interview a while back.  I
  153. really like it.  Its kind of disturbing and intimate at the same time.

  293. Well, if any of you care I decided to keep my friend.  Reason being he said
  294. he will pay for me for the next time Moby comes around.  I found out from a
  295. friend at NBC sports about the continous Moby play.  If some of you don't
  296. know, Moby's GMOTFOTW and New Dawn Fades has been playing during NBC
  297. basketball games through out the playoffs.  I was wondering, "What album has
  298. these 2 songs on it???  Anybody???"  HEAT!!!!    He (my friend) said one of
  299. the sound guys got a hold of the soundtrack for HEAT and has been playing
  300. "numerous" tracks from it for filler when they show stats and stuff.  I
  301. realized it during game 4 of the finals when the played other tracks from the
  302. CD.  I should ask them if they have to pay for that or what???  Enough Moby
  303. stuff, time for Prodigy.  Did anyone see them here in Chicago June 30th???
  304.  IT WAS THE BEST CONCERT I'VE EVER BEEN AT, EVER!!!!   The only thing was
  305. they didn't play much from Experience.  Breathe, (good video, BTW), Poison
  306. and Landmines were the best.  Okay, now more Moby stuff.   I read that RS
  307. article and was like, "okay."  My other friends, moby fans as well, were
  308. like, "That's stupid. Why date a prostitute???  'Honey, go fuck someone else
  309. for money.  I'm Moby, I don't have enough money' "  I was saying who cares
  310. who he is with and as long as he's happy.  That's the way I see it.

  361.  I saw the prodigy show here in chicago, it was great. As for the
  362. friendship, I had almost the exact same experience at the Jamboree, only my
  363. friend refused to leave early enough to get there on time, because "i'll
  364. leave when I damn well please." This despite him repeatedly assuring me
  365. that we'd see Moby, and that he had no problem driving us. Then he feigned
  366. sickness, so we had to leave early. the bastard.

  385. The way I think it works that if you're going to play cd's to a
  386. crowd(that includes bars, clubs, resturants, radio stations, sports
  387. arenas, etc) you have to pay fees to certain groups/associations...Can
  388. someone help here?

  539. on the domestic version) that are synthy, but not many.

  542. lifeless drum machine. very boring drum lines, even for rock. there are 
  543. some amazing punk drummers out there. and what about the guys moby plays 
  544. with live? why didn't they play on AR?

  809. Hi...my name's Athena and I'm 22.  I first got into Moby thanks to a
  810.  friend of mine who was utterly OBSEDDED with him.  She used to listen
  811. to
  812.  "all I want is to be loved" over and over and over in her apartment.
  813. Eventually it drilled into me and I've been listening to him ever
  814. since.       That was about 4 or 5 years ago and I've since seen Moby
  815. twice and
  816. attened two release parties for him.  It was also a great honor for m to
  817. be asked to help and DJ one of those parties.
  818.         My Moby collection isn't that big...I have a very tapes that
  819. people have given me and the copy of Everything Is Wrong that I got when
  820. I DJed at the party.  I still haven't picked up the new one
  821. yet.               I saw Moby a few weeks ago in MASS. at Riverside and
  822. was disappointed that they stuck him on such a small stage.  It was cool
  823. to see them play all the great old songs, but clumped together right in
  824. a row...that I could have done without.  And the people there had no
  825. idea what to make of Moby,since the show was an all day thing put on
  826. every year by one of the local alternitive radio stations.  The
  827. headliners were Better than Ezra and Local H...so most people there
  828. didnt' even really know who Moby was!  But the ones that were there for
  829. him were fantiasticly supportive.  Most of the others just sort of
  830. stared in confustion at everybody actually DANCING and trying to beat
  831. the crap out of eachother.  Except when Moby did some of the newer
  832. stuff, that was when the mosh pit would comeback.  But as soon as he
  833. went back to techno, the most pit stopped and the real dancing came
  834. back.  It was also very cool to see Moby standing on the side of the
  835. stage during Echo & The Bunnymen singing along with EVERY song they
  836. played.
  837.          As far as other bands I like I have a very wide range of
  838. musical  interstes.  Some of the biggest and most important ones are
  839. techno, industrial and goth.  Some specific favorites are Josh Wink,
  840. Frankie Bones, Doc Marten, James Christian, Space Time Continum, Cosmic
  841. Baby,db, Fluke, Underworld, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, Ministry,
  842. Front 242, Rev. Co., Nitzer Ebb, Coil, Bauhaus, London After Midnightand
  843. lots more. I'm very open when it comes to music...I also like celtic and
  844. some folk-ish stuff too.  I play the guitar, bass and keyboards and
  845. studied recording and production in college.
  846.          I live in CT, but I'm looking for people in the NYC area to go
  847. to raves and parties with.  (I'm new down here and am used to the Boston
  848. scene and haven't ventured out into the NYC clubs yet...) So if there's
  849. anybody out there that might be willing to show me around...that'd be
  850. wicked cool.

  881. fix is to make a Moby mix tape. This can include his
  882. own tracks as well as remixes he's done for other 
  883. artists. I just got my hands on a great 12" of "Damage
  884. I've Done" from The Heads. It includes 2 remixes done
  885. by Moby. The sticker on the sleeve says "Remixed and

  1100. way he does it live, but there is no known country/thrash/ska
  1101. version on any recording. There is a "slow dance" version on the
  1102. Live In Minneapolis bootleg. Is that a country version?
