i would like to add one comment.. i just saw Moby interview from tv , and
moby said that: one year ago i really hated dance music, but now after all i
have realized that most of the rock bands are boring like dance music bands
and i actually like dance music right now.. and he also said that his next
album could be like techno again =) yeah.. cool..

Subject: (mobility) NEW ADDRESS.....SAME OLD STUFF
Well, just some more rambles. I am a big basketball fan, and when I
was watching game 3 of the Rockets-Supersonics on NBC and who did they
play in the background as they were talking about Houston's big 3
(Barkley, Drexler and Olajuwon)????? They were playing Moby's
version of New Dawn Fades!!!! I couldn't believe it!!!!! I was like,
"I wonder if Moby knows about this...." Anyway, went to a record
shop in downtown Chicago and found TWIRFMR on vinyl. They had two
different copies of it. One white cover and one black. I bought the
white one. Sister Bliss and Rollo were there and I had them sign the
vinyl, I figured it made sense since there remix was on it. They
were like, "Yeah. We had fun making this mix." I was like,
"Thanks." I felt like such a dork. They were spinnin' shit in the
store and it sounded real good.
Now about the worst day of my life. Sunday, May 25. I was
going to see Moby that day, I thought it was going to be a great
experience. I woke up at 10:00 a.m. I was listening to the radio
and heard that moby was playing at 12:45. I figured if I left at
11:00 I would be there on time. I was waiting at my house for the
rest of my so called friends to arrive so we could go. One of my now
enemies did not arrive until 12:15. We had to wait for him since he
had the tickets. We did not get there until 1:45. I missed the
whole set!!! I was SSSSOOOO pissed. I felt like committing
suicide. I really did. I went to my seat and just sunk there the
whole day. Then as I was watching Jamoruquai, I saw some kid with a
moby drawing on his hat. He told me that moby was signing
autographs. I was like, kewl. I got there AND HE WAS GONE!!!!! I
fell to the ground. People were asking me if I was alright and
helping me up. I just wanted to die. And I owe it all to this
asshole who will remain nameless. I read the set list just now and I
am now crying. I can't believe it. The only guy I wanted to see.
From now on no one will come between me and Moby. No one.

Ahh!!! Too cool! I wonder how big the tour will be and if it'll be him

There's a good chance that your friend didn't mean to make your life so
miserable. I know it really sucks to get your hopes up and have them
crushed like that, but just think about what's more important-seeing some
guy perform music you've already heard, or keeping a friend?
I know I'd probably be pretty pissed off too however...Oh well...listen to
the R&SB mix of TWIRFMR and it'll get you happier than ever-it always works
for me ;)

That sounds cool. I assume he will be doing that to promote the U.S.
release of The End of Everything, which is sort of ironic seeing as
how in the liner notes to TEoE, he says he released it under the
name Voodoo Child so he wouldn't have to promote it. Perhaps the
record company is forcing him to, or maybe he just wants to.
Any comments?

part of being a human is dealing with the fact that we are all
hypocrites in one way or another. humans are not perfect and
can not be expected to live godly lives. if you are not a hypocrite,
then you are not human. i admire moby for being open with
his hypocricies and humanness and not trying to conceal it like so
many others.

i don't know, maybe he is not going to tour with it on a large
scale. i don't think that the album should be promoted because it
is not a very commercial release and i don't think that many
people woudl find it interesting unless they are fans of that type of
music and if they are then they would most likely already know
about it.

Which makes you wonder if "The End of Everything" is going to be
released as we all expect. Made he'll do something comparable to the US
version of "Animals Rights". Watch, the album will have its touchstone
songs that we all know of... then seperate relentless and pounding
electronic mixes will be added! <G>
Okay, maybe not... it might diminish what "The End of Everything"
established. Still, we don't know what to expect from this release. I
agree that the album doesn't stand much of a chance when it comes to a
commercial release. And yes I want to see a domestic release but its
not going to be a cash cow if that's what Elektra is aiming for.

i'd like to see some new mixes with it as well.
i love the extended mix of dog heaven. probably my favorite new moby
dance song. i think that he would be really successful if he'd keep the
cinematices of alot of his current electronic stuff, and add some heavy
high bpm beats to it.

i agree. if elektra is trying to promote this album, they are making a big
mistake. they will most definitely lose money on it. i am really curious to
see whta the concert will be like tho. i mean, i've never heard moby play
any ambient stuff at a live show. has anyone? this has gotten me excited,
and if it turns out to be cancelled, then i'm gonna burn all my moby
merchandise.
ok, maybe i won't burn anything, but i'll be mad.

It was great it was about four minutes long...and then he did the cool Moby

it because she really enjoyed it. she had a great day job, then at night
would go hang out with arab princes and be flown all over the place. she
found it sexually exciting, but it can become "de rigueur". [another]
x-girlfriend has stripped for 5 years, and it has simply become a way to make
money quickly. she can do it without batting an eye.
"2 friends and i have a plan ready for a sex store. i envision attractive
punk rock kids and a sence of humor to it. therre's the mythic level to
pornography...somthing honest about it in a weird way."
moby's facination may come in handy; he's negotiating with Axl Rose - at one
time known for his x-rated tastes - to co-produce the next guns and roses
album.

unconscious. D) Take back my money for the ticket while he was out cold. E)
Kick him in the stomach. F) Take another $20. G) Never, ever let him live

On a brighter note. JamTV (http://www.jamtv.com) broadcast the set via real
audio the day of the Q101 set. And, they are set to put it up in their
archives when they get it up and running. So. When they get to it, you can
at least *hear* the set at your leisure. But, I agree. It won't be the same
as being there. And like you, I won't rest until I get to see Moby live for
myself and score back stage comp passes. (I have visions of Moby opening up
for U2 on the PopMart Tour. I think I would just DIE).

hi
i am denine. i am kinda new to the list (i have been reading, but not
replying for several weeks).
anyway. i like several of bigwig's ideas ...
your A-I sequence of getting someone back for missing Moby is beautiful! : )
and a Moby/U2 tour would just blow me away. i am supposed to see U2 in Paris
in Sept. i like U2's older stuff, so i am not incredibly excited to see them
now. but i keep thinking, "now if i was going to see Moby ... WOOHOO!!!"
i was in a friend's car several months ago, and i saw a small Moby poster. i
picked it up, and it was for a show Moby did back in '95 here in Albuquerque.
i just wanted to die. my friend said he went, and had a blast. i don't know
what the heck i was doing around the time of the show, but i never heard a
word about it. I could reach for my revolver ...

I hope you are..considering I've only known about Moby for about 4.5
years(thank to the Cool World Soundtrack)..and didn't purchase my first
Moby cd(Moby) 6 months later.

Not to turn this into a non-moby conversation..but why do ppl discount
rap? I have a feeling it's cuz of the (c)rap they play on eMpTyV..but
then again..that's just my opinion..You have to wade thru all the
gangsta wannabes to find the good stuff(like Spearhead..who are playing
live here tonight..woo hoo!!)

I like a bunch of older stuff, like krs-one, grandmaster flash,
grandmaster melle mel, run dmc, etc... but a lot of the new stuff is just

sorry about the rap thing. i don't think i have a rap molecule in me; i just
can't get into it. but we all have musical differences, and that's a
beautiful thing.
ohhh, that sounds so sappy.

couldn't make it and that the Bosstones filled a slot and that they came from
boston gave me some hope..i heard that he was in boston (moby) doing another
thing..well...gots to go.

the reason that most people don't like hip hop anymore is because it sucks.
besides that, i think people are turned off by it for the following reasons:
- -cliche lyrics
- -we've all heard the story
- -the same old beats over and over
- -too much WB network sitcoms
- -it lost its nrg
- -no more turntable use, all samples
- -lost its rock influences
- -no real differences amongst artists
and to make this moby related:
didn't moby once rap on some bands album?
i forget the name, but remember reading something about that a while ago.
has anyone heard this? what does he sound like?

don't mean to be offensive, but... you make it sound like you are
