  62.         part of the great thing about being on a mailing list is gaining an
  63. identity with the rest of the list by building common slang.  seeing how
  64. this is list is devoted to moby and his music, most members should know what
  65. another member means when they type EiW, everything is wrong, or _Everything
  66. is Wrong_.  if i don't understand what someone is trying to say, i ask.
  67. deal with it.  not everyone out there in the real world speaks perfect
  68. english.  (i, like sinjin, am also an english major.)  the list is for
  69. fun...there shouldn't be requirements for perfect grammar or typing skills
  70. in order to participate.
  71.         now on to everyone's favorite guy...   one evening recently when i
  72. couldn't get to sleep, my moby-hating roommate had just left and was going
  73. to be gone for an hour or so.  i realized this was the perfect oportunity to
  74. pop little idiot (_little idiot_ for you punctuation freaks) into my cd
  75. player.  i figured by the time my roommate got back, i'd be fast asleep and
  76. the cd would be over.  when i woke up the next morning, it was still
  77. playing.  i had accidentally put it on repeat.  i was amazed that my
  78. roommate hadn't turned it off.  guess what!?!  SHE LOVED IT!!!!  she was
  79. really surprised when she found out it was moby.  she still hates most of
  80. his stuff, but at least i found something i can listen to without her
  81. getting upset.  :)

  160. i had a similar experience a few year back when "E-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g i-s
  161. W-r-o-n-g"
  162. came out.  most of my friends are rivethead industrial nuttahs so they really
  163. weren't into the majority of moby's techno stuff.  but i was playing EiW in
  164. the car and they new it was moby and were like turning their nose up to
  165. "hymn"...but when "All that i Need..." kicked in with guitars a blazing, they
  166. were like "who is this now?".  when i told them that it was moby, they were
  167. amazed.  today, 3 of the 4 non-believers have switched to moby!  and dentists 
  168. think their toothpaste statistics are important...

  263. Brokaw saying drugs were suspected, possibly heroin, and thinking that
  264. CAN'T be right. Then I started checking the list and the net for more info,
  265. but everyone was busy saying how much they *loved* him ("Alas, poor Urich.
  266. I knew him well."), but no one was saying what I wanted to hear: that it
  267. wasn't true. That he wasn't just some minor pop figure who was now going to
  268. be a "legend" just because he was dead. I remeber crying and falling down
  269. in the snow and pounding on the ice (it was winter) but no one understood
  270. why. And I remember being glad that I just bought some rarities before this
  271. happened and then feeling guilty afterwards.

  369. when i was younger, i watched an episode of "growing pains" where
  370. ben idolized this rock singer and when he got the chance to meet him,
  371. he saw that the singer was  a drunken promiscuous druggy who was
  372. mean and ignorant to everyone, including ben.

  374. because of that show, i've had similar dreams about moby.  i've dreamed
  375. that i got a chance to meet him after a concert and he was like the 
  376. total opposite of everything he preached.  he had a bear gut, was smoking,
  377. and was very cruel to me and didn't want to talk at all.  i had dreams
  378. that my mom invited him to my house for a birthday party, and he was
  379. just really ignorant to everyone and ate meat and was a total bigot.
  380. i hate having dreams like these.

  382. but i do have good dreams about moby too.  i probably have more good 
  383. dreams than bad ones.  see moby doesn't know it yet, but we are long lost
  384. siblings.  yep.  it's true.  separated at birth.  so he's somewhere, right now,

  548. an arse, but i just realised why i get 2 or 3 of the same message.  when the
  549. message is sent to Mobility@mail.xmission.com if the address appears again in
  550. the CC area of it, then 2 (or however many times the name appears) messages
  551. are going to be sent.  i dont know if this has anything to do with ones local
  552. ISP, but if this can be avoided i think we would all be a bit happier.
