Subject: (mobility) Hello to Everyone!!!
Hello everybody! I am new subscriber to this list, and thought I would
introduce myself. I tried to join the list before, but it never worked,
and I never worried about it until I bought Animal Rights yesterday and
have been so obsessed with that album since that I decided to try again. I
only have EIW, Move, Ambient, and AR, no singles or remixes but I am
working on it.
My first question being new to list is to ask if anyone knows if I can find
any sites with lyrics to Moby songs, and if so, where is it???

He didn't just say that about Orbital did he??!? I can't believe
Moby would say that Orbital 'makes nice background music'.
To be honest with you, I think Orbital's music has much more
emotion than Moby's...
He really shouldn't be trashing Orbital. Although I don't like
the Chem Bros, I wouldn't trash them either!

Well, I don't agree that Orbital's music has more emotion, but I do like
it. I'm not trying to debate the emotional point of it, I'm trying to
point out that trashing or putting down someone else's material is not
becoming. Moby is definitely a strange character with many flaws and
contradictions. But we love him anyway...
I'm not trying to say that everyone must be PC or suppress their
opinions but there are better ways to go about it. Okay, enough of me.

I heard, it was going to be released March '96. Then it got moved
to November '96. There is a Utah Saints Homepage that lists the tracks
for the CD, and the supposed release date. But as of know the date of
release is in the air. I look forward to buying it, but by the time it
comes out the music will be outdated......not really, but it sounded
good....mjs

Subject: (mobility) Sell Out?
Okay, everyone- I have a question regarding the possibility of Moby
"selling out" or getting too popular. Does this mean that I shouldn't loan
my friends CDs in fear that they might end up buying one? Should I even
play it when anyone else is around, in fear that they might hear something
they like??
;->
IMHO, part of the joy of having something great is getting to share it with
others. Agreed? Anyway, as for the sudden influx of alternative
nirvana-bees into the electronica field, all I have to say is that is hard
to develop a taste for wine when all you are given is (dirty) water. I
come from a small town in mid-Michigan (in the US, since I don't know the
nationalities of everyone on here), and we literally have one stoplight,
are over %75 woods, and have one good radio station which plays classic
rock- don't get me wrong, at first two hours straight of Led Zeppelin every
other night is okay, but it gets old REAL fast. So since people around
here aren't likely to hear of Moby any other way, shouldn't I at least
expose them to something new?
Just a thought....

For all to know.
Moby was very friendly in Chicago last nite. They had a setup on the stage
so people could go oup and sit down and have a small chat with our hero. I
left at Midnight and there still was a big line of people. Why did I leave
early...I have to be at work at 8:00 am...needed sleep. I would have stayed
longer for more news to offer, but no go. Anyone stay later?
I Had him sign my Moby "Disk" CD-ROM and he told me he doesn't know alot of
people who own it. So I feel cool now I guess. He said He's be touring in
the March-April range and will be everywhere hopefully and would love to
meet all of us here on this mailing list.
Hope all who are on the list here got to meet him. Probably one of the more
friendlier musicians out there who regard fans as an important element of
their work. As my friend, Jennifer said "He's a friendly little man."

Do you think it'll be like that at all his shows? I sure hope so.
But I see his Southern California show being in a pretty big
location, making it hard to talk one on one with him.

Actually...in a radio interview that same day he says he doesn't really
bother with any online stuff right now because he's on the road alot and has
no time to keep up with his email. He had it once before, but got rid of it.
>oh, well...mabye someday i'll meet him :(
You'd be suprised. Its not too hard to meet the guy. He likes meeting
people. If he were to play a club and you were to wait for him, he's like to
meet people.

How bout Wyoming? Will he come to Wyoming? IF Moby played a show in
Wyoming, i would be the happiest person alive. Maybe he will at least come
to Denver or Salt Lake City, which isn't too far away. Anyway....I can't

You have to admit, though, that most techno today is a lot more "polished"
than it was 5 or 6 years ago.. everything flows well, has a finished sound
to it, unlike the raw cut'n'paste sound that techno used to have. just
listen to the prodigy's "experience" album, or early moby (UHF comes to
mind <g>), and you'll see what I mean
peace!

For those who have "reserved" items, and haven't sent payment, please
email
asap. I have people who are interested in several things.... I will be
reducing prices shortly for certain things also. If you emailed me
about
something, please return my email that I sent you. A new updated list
will
be going out with some new stuff and old stuff. Some asked which videos
I
have to sell/trade:
I have Everytime You Touch Me and Feeling So Real(Kiddie Version). I
would
like to see someone come up with a discography of all his videos. I
really
like em'.
Also, I cannot see selling material to those of you in the UK and abroad
(over the boarder and through the sea). It is nothing against you, it's
just that I found that s/h would cost more than what you'd be buying.
Some
items are still available through MUTE. I don't think INSTINCT has
anything
other than major releases which you can find via online stores, etc...
I
apoligize deeply for this.
WHY AM I SELLING SO MUCH... I question asked by most of you. I have
nearly
every Moby release still. I am quite a collector of sorts. Some items
came
to me really cheap and I thought I could pass on the savings or help you
out
with your collection. I am also trying to buy some gear. Samplers,
sequences, DAT machine, etc... $$$ does not grow on trees. Thank
you
