first of all, they probably haven't played moby because his new stuff
isn't electronic. not only that...but they don't really play older
music...it's primarily recent material.

Brad, thanks for your message. I want to learn as much about Moby as I
can, and posts like that are really informative. Thanks. I have one really
basic question about EIW. I know that it is a "techno" style record but
is it an instrumental record with little or no vocals, or is it that
same techno style with prominent vocals? I really need to check out EIW
to discover how great it is, for myself. Down here in Dallas, it is not
real easy to find releases by Moby. For some reason, a lot of music stores
around here only have Animal Rights and usually that is about it. And I know I
haven't seen the 2-cd remix of EIW. This remix album is intriguing as hell.
I really want to hear that one.
Also, I read on the webpage that Moby is going to remix a David Bowie
track. If someone could give me some more info on that, then that would
be really cool (also, if anyone would like to give me their opinion of
Earthling please do so because I want to check that out as well and I
value all of your opinions).
And since I am in a question-and-answer mode, what do you all think of
the remixes Moby has done for other artists? The only remixes by him
that I can remember off of the top of my head is a remix of Dusty by
Soundgarden, Until It Sleeps by Metallica and some Smashing Pumpkins
track. What are you opinions of these? I have the remix of Dusty and I
think it is arguably better than the original.
What is the relationship between Moby and Trent Reznor? Have the ever worked
on anything together? It would be incredibly intriguing to see these two
prodigys collaborate.
Anyway, I know I have asked about a million different things so I apologize for
rambling on like this. Like I said, I am a novice to Moby so if anyone wants
to email me their opinions of his albums or *anything* else like that, please
do so because I think I have discovered something real special in Moby.
Thanks for reading.

sure I could help keep things straight. Besides, I trust him anyways.

Just had a thought. This list, which has a somewhat small membership and
has members from around the world, has somehow managed to accumulate three
Penn State students.
What do you think, Ryu and Bill? Weird or coincidence? Well, I guess,
since there is so little real scene here, we crave other sources of input.
Like I said, just a little thought.

vince said something about trent reznor and moby working together and how he
thought it would be intruiging. i disagree. (sorry vince) i think tht even
with the change (back) to punk by moby, the 2 are on completely different
planes of musical thinking. although, now that i say that, that might be a
reason to want to hear what would come about it all...hmm...well, since i just
totally contradicted myself, RIGHT ON VINCE!

there are quite a bit of vocals on it, but not as much as on AR.
there are two guitar based songs, both of which are lyrical.
there are two ballads with female vocals. adn there are two uplifting
dance tracks with male/female vocals. when i say vocals, i mean real
written out lyrics...not just samples and things.

as far as i know, they've never worked together before.
while they are total opposites in terms of lifestyle, i do draw
a small parallel between some of their emotions in music. i'd like
to see them work together someday just to see what it would sound like.
but i don't know. i heard trents new song, which is mighty technoey,
and moby's not really into that as much. he he hheeeeee....

I think I've seen all the episodes of AMP but I may have missed
one down the line. I have never seen Moby on Amp, but maybe
your friend was talking about "Go" on M2. My friend saw the
video on M2 once (the spin-off music channel from MTV). It might
have been on Amp once, but I would be pissed!

I got "Eart hl i ng" a few hours ago and I must say that even though I
am biased (i am a huge fan of david bowie) this has got to be one of the
best records he has ever done.. seriously if you arent a big fan of
david bowie please go to a record store that lets you listen to a CD
before you buy it.. and just listen to tracks 1, 8, 9 (#8 "I'm afraid of
americans" is co written by brian eno)
does anyone know which song moby is remixing?

I go this single in addition to the David Bowie album... I guess they

(Everybody in The Place (Dance Hall Version)) is remixed by Moby and he
