I don't mean to sound cynical, but I think that considering how the deadline was cut short by about a month without much notice, digital CD copies should be almost encouraged. You shouldn't keep such a compilation from those of us who failed to have the foresight to see you bailing out of distribution. I love Moby and his music, in all its forms. I can hardly contain my disappointment at knowing I will never own one of the original Thanks CDs.

Sorry, but I totally disagree.
Timeless was decent, Saturnzreturnz is *crap*. There's no way it even
approaches the emotion that Moby conveys. Disc 1 is an epic journey into
self-indulgent tripe, and disc 2 is a series of *terrible* songs-the only
decent one is Digital, and that track really had no lasting value. Don't
get me wrong, I really love long droning tracks like 'Cop Shoot Cop', 'The
Box', 'Reject' & 'The Howler Parts 1 & 2', but there was no substance to
Mother. Moby did a wonderful thing with Dark; he really infused emotion
into DnB. Massive Attack unfurls furious emotions on their discs. Goldie
has ripped off Massive Attack on both of his albums, and done a very poor
job. And the fact that Moby managed to do 'Dark' better than Goldie could
have...well that's just the final nail in the man's coffin. The Inner City
Life 3-part track is gold, and I'll never part with it. It's just too bad

The major similarity to Saturnzreturn & EiW is how they both toss music
from different genres onto the same cd....which is something I frankly
don't like all that much, when i listen to a cd i think it shoudl comvey
the same atmosphere thru out (Maybe i'm not making sense...like, for
example, Bjork can do it, she can have a fast dancey-ravey song then
move into something slow and ballady, and it's a smooth transition...)
With the new Goldie for example; Digital is a fun track, and I Believe
is just beautiful, but i don't feel like they belong on the same cd, and
didn't Goldie already do an ep or something w/KRS-One??
Yesturday I was at our local public library and waiting to have my books
check out, started looking thru their meager cd collection. ( I live in
a town called Spotsylvania, VA; our library is approx the size of a
shoebox) and came across Moby's Ambient. Right there between Yanni &
Bob Seager...i was quite surprised, i never expected to come across any

AFAIK Digital's the only track they've done together.

rave on brother!
i haven't heard the new goldie but let's face it
most critics are parasites anyways
just leeching off a culture
that they think they administer judgment over
as if a critic invented hip-hop
breakbeat
ambient
or soul..........
the only difference between a critic (of which i've done plenty of)
and the general joe and jane public
is that they TRY to take longer to say something AND they get thrown
little doggie bones namely cd's and a few bucks
( i hear one screaming >HEY! i made 200 bucks on that review!<)
>>joakim-I really suggest you get mixed and remixed. I think it's one
>>of the best from Moby. I especially love the Westbam mix of "Feeling >>So Real." I get chills everytime I hear that track!
>Me too... in fact I think I prefer it to the original (not sure why), >although it's missing the great bassline ("wooOOoomm" ;)
I have to agree that I prefer the westbam mix over the original, but I don't miss the "wooOOoomm" bassline because most systems can't handle the bass and it get's all distorted if you try to play it too loud. Westbam has a much more precise bassline, which sounds a lot better if you're cruising around in a car or something. But what really gets me is the intro to westbam ("take me away, take me away, take me away"). It sounds cleaner on the FSR usa single because it's not mixxed in with the previous track.
I think that CDeurope might have that for about 50$ or so, I just remember looking through their Moby selection a while ago and there were many different EIWs. one of them might be the one you're looking for. I am, however, personally against CDeurope because their page is SOOO slow and they take forever to deliver, but most importantly, there prices are at least double of what you can find anywhere else.
Hope that helps, and I hope you find EIW/underwater.
how/where do you get such promos? I know they usually say _not for sale_ on them, but is there anyone or anyplace that sells them anyway? also, am I missing anything by not owning them, or do they only have exact copies of songs of the mass-produced albums?
I wish I had been more aware and persistent before Moby became so popular. I'm sure many others feel the same way. Too bad there's not enough rare moby to go around.

This assumes that given the same information and knowledge base - everyone would be Moby freaks (I mean that in a very nice way), or would all have "good taste" in music... the error in this is thinking that preference of music is objective - that there really is a good vs. bad/poor/evil/tasteless... But the failing is in not recognizing the subjectivity of taste - the whole "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" schtick.... We can try and measure music by set criteria - but isn't that really just someone else's opinion on what's superior... Obviously we all really like Moby - why else would we be here... and that's totally cool... his music illuminates something inside all of us... But, and it pains me to say this... Moby is not going to have the same effect on everyone... we're all individuals - thus being, we're all going to like different things... And that's why Top 40 groups/bands/people are allowed to exist... we like what we like - and we should at least accept and cel!
ebrate that, feelings safe in the knowledge that we have Moby and his music moves us....
And getting down from my soap box... I have to share the fact that I scored a copy of EIW w/Underwater this past weekend for $10 - imagine the sacrilege of someone giving that up - but it probably just didn't do anything for them...
And with that addition, - the survey says my Moby total is 33...
Thanks for stopping...
