Subject: (klr650) Trip to Colorado
I just got back from a trip to Colorado. I put 1030 miles on my 97 KLR 650.
It handled all the high mountain pass with no problems. I have a moose skid
plate that came in handy outside of Ouray. Also, my Givi luggage system was
a great value in the rain that I encountered all around Colorado. One
complaint, is that the KLR is not well suited for Interstate travel. I
stayed mainly on the two lane highways which worked out fine.
I will have some pix in a few days so stay tuned.

Driving and load conditions. An empty bike and general purpose riding will
go 1/4 to 1/3 further than a heavily loaded bike doing 70 MPH on the
freeway.
