  512. I don't have an exact date, but Indians were castrating large numbers of =
  513. their horses probably by the mid to late 1700s. In Ewers' book, The =
  514. Horse in Blackfoot Indian Culture, there is a good description of =
  515. castration page 56-57.

  517. I saw my first Spanish Barb horses in Texas a month ago while doing the =
  518. research for my article. It was a real treat to see them.
