Mike, etc...., that's a good point. If possible, we carry those
collapsible canvas buckets- fill them at night and let the stuff settle,
then pump off of the top of the bucket in the morning. Some river water is
very silty. "to thick to navigate, too thin to plough..." Mike taught me
the coffe filter trick. Beware of Mike's coffee <g>. hardtack

I have never carried hydgrogen with me on period camps but I have made water along the trail and have found it not only heplful but almost indespinsible. You oatta try it sometime.
