  45. I have a friend who died recently and his son is selling some of his
  46. collection of horns, hides, etc in Seattle Washington. I just
  47. reviewed the items by photos he sent me to give him an idea of
  48. prices. There is a nice large buffalo robe. If you are interested in
  49. these items. email me and i will forward his phone #. I do not want
  50. anyone calling him that is not serious in purchasing this stuff. the
  51. family has it in storage and wants to move it out. If you live in the
  52. area, you could probally get a great deal on it.
  53. Some of the items include, a zebra rug, moose, elk deer cow horns.
  54. mounted antelope horns, two blk/white sheep? rugs, several rolls of
  55. latigo leather, roll of rawhide, bobcat rug, various bones of elk,
  56. deer, ie jaw bones, etc. complete red fox skin, and lots of buffalo
  57. scrap I sent him a few years ago.

  96. up collecting dust after about three years.
  97.     A more practical solution to get him started in muzzle loading is to =
  98. get ahold of an inexpensive underhammer, like one of the H&As and just =
  99. saw the stock to fit. Later you can replace the stock at low cost or =
  100. make one of your own. Not a flinter but a good way to start without =
  101. sacrificing the kids college money.

Just returned from an 8 day cow elk hunt in a traditional muzzleloader unit in Idaho. One member of our party made meat with his smoothbore. He made the shot at about 65 yards up hill. Bullet entered and broke a rib, passed through a lung and then through the spine. That cow dropped like a  ton of bricks and
  162. rolled almost down to the creek. My son finished her off with a head shot from his flinter. We in total saw 14 cows, 2 bulls, 2 bears (one of which got some lead flung at it, and several grouse. Some of the grouse made it home with me. My son and I are returning this weekend for 4 more days of cow hunting.

  187. Pete, Check out Traditions. They make a youth model .50 cal flintlock. Price is right too at about $140-150. Both my boys use them. My oldest killed his first deer last year with his.
