Nobody ever really responded back to the Walk on Water comment. Is Men
Without Hats talking about themselves in that song....saying "We never walked
on water" and throughout the whole song? THat's how I've taken it.
And I was also wondering what your favorite song is...on any of the MWH or
Ivan CD's. Mine is the Freeways Live version of "I Like."
Anybody else?
Collin

My favorite song is "Heaven" from the second boot. I'm still wondering if
there's a studio version available somewhere...

Hard to choose!!!! I'd say "I Got The Message", "I Like", "Security",
"Eurotheme", "Where Do The Boys Go", "Safety Dance in the 21st Century", I
love the demo for "Living In China" and "The Rhythm of Youth". I also like
"Moonbeam", "Walk On Water", and "SOS". Of course there are a lot of others
like "The Safety Dance", "Antarctica", and yes, the live version of "I Like"
rocks big time! For Ivan songs, I like "Open Your Eyes", "1972", and the
beginning to "Superbadgirls".
Maybe "Walk On Water" is about the group's popularity and possible pressure
to impress and conform to everyone. Maybe it has something to do with
record contracts. It might tie in with "Messiahs Die Young" where I think
it's about Ivan not wanting to be a huge pop star, all he wants is to have
fun making music.
How about your least favourite song? One track which stands out is
"Messiahs Die Young". It never appealed to me. It is rather dull and it
got on my nerves after two listens. That's it! The rest are good. Even
the ones on 21st Century! :D

If I remember correctly, Ivan by his own admission has many times stated that
"Walk on Water" was an insight to what the band was going through leading up
to,during, and after the "Safety Dance" period, ie: the unexpected *and ill-
prepared for* meteoric rise to fame, the perks, the unrealistic expectations
*by the media, public, management and band alike*, the pedestals, the eventual
backlash, the blah, blah blah...*SNII-I-II-P!*
And I was also wondering what your favorite song is...on any of the MWH or
Ivan CD's.
I seem to keep coming back to Security, Gravity *Is My Enemy*, In the name of
Angels, and All We Do, as well as most of the instrumentals...as for Ivan's
solo work, i would have to narrow it down to SBG and You...
There...Happy Now?

So hard to pick just one favorite MWH song. Each one means so much in a
different way, but if I had to pick just one, I would have to say that
Folk of the 80's is a great tune, and by far, one of the best. As for
worst tune, I would have to say that saying a MWH tune is bad... is
sac-religious. Agreed?
