  103. right after I replied to my e-mail yesterday and thought "I wonder when 
  104. I'll get my videocassette?", I went to check the (postal) mail and guess 
  105. what came?  I was expectign it to arrive on Wednesday.  Oh well, that made
  106. my Monday happy!

  108. First I'd like to say thank you oh so much Tom for that gift of music and 
  109. videos you so kindly offered to us.  All that hard work!

  111. The picture quality was amazing!  For the videos and the concert clips.  
  112. Anyone know why Ivan has that stuff all over his face in the "Sideways" 
  113. video?  And it was great seeing a fewllow list member on the tape, too! :)

  116. tape but in order not to risk spoiling it for others, I'll wait until 
  117. everyone has received their tape.

  139. At this time in Quebec (1990), they were a big fight agains't Gouvernment and
  140. indians.  These peoples was called "Warriors" and they were using paint in
  141. there face.

  287. Cool!  Yes, its true.  My birthday is November 12.  I've been so busy, I
  288. even forgot about it a couple of days ago.  I'm still spending about 2 1/2
  289. hours a day (or every other day) making videos.  By the way, Carl's your
  290. videos are finished.  I've already started #20-#30 last week.  I'm actually
  291. on about #25 now.  I should have ALL of these mailed by next weekend.  Go
  292. ahead and send me $10 if you are #20-#30.  
  293.      Oh yeah, the master tapes are still "as I received them".  I will let
  294. you all know if I see any wear on them.   I do realize that this is slow,
  295. slow, slow.   I am basically working from midnight to 9 am every night at my
  296. company, and then I work for the hats fans another couple of hours every
  297. morning until I hit my bed.  Don't get me wrong,  I love doing this!  I just
  298. want to explain why I can't do 3 tapes a day or something like that.  My
  299. boss has been hassling me over why I've got the lowest overtime ranking in
  300. the department.  Little does he know, I'm looking for another job (this
  301. takes more time still).
  302.  
  303.       I have some good news!   I have some more hats footage to tape for
  304. everyone.  I have been slowly accumulating more stuff during the process of
  305. making these videos.  All the better for all of you!  Now I can make some
  306. audio cassettes as well.  I will tell everyone 1/2 of what I have in mind.
  307. The other half, you will find out in time.
  308.       Because Mike is in between jobs at the moment, I may be able to record
  309. some cassettes for some people, later.  I won't agree to this until I've
  310. finished everyone's video, everyone.  
  311.       Here it is:

  313.   1.  I've got a near CD quality DAT copy of Freeways (euromix) and
  314. Antarctica 1980.  This is off of a sealed Freeways LP I picked up in Canada
  315. around 1991.  Thinking ahead, I put it on digital tape on the very first
  316. play, therefore- CD quality, much better than the Gre. HAt. CD.  I also have
  317. the Rhythm of Youth CD, w/ other freeways tracks + freeways casstte w/ other
  318. versions.

  320. one<-                              This is side 1 or the cassette.

  322.  2.  Someone has sent me a near perfect copy of Rhythm of Youth concert from
  323. a CFNY radio show.  He sent me his original cassette and I put it directly

  327. Messiahs Die Young, Freeways, Security, I Got the Message, Moderne Dancing,

  332. This is most of Mike's rare and live CDs anyway.  Although I don't have a CD
  333. writer, I can make some killer metal cassettes copies to hold us all until
  334. Mikey comes through.
  335.    I was going to offer to tape ROY and FOLK CDs, but thanks to Carl, these
  336. are soon available!  Yeah! (Hey Carl, any chance of a Freeways mini CD release?)

  372. Ive only been on line for a few days and im really excited that there are
  373. other hat listeners out there!
  374. I first saw the hats in 1983 at Ontario Place (first tour)...i was so
  375. impressed at that performance that i went to the first show on the "where
  376. do the boys go?" world tour (toronto, aug 18, 1984) <i was only 15, and i
  377. still have the newspaper reviews from it...> After that i tried to see the
  378. Freeways tour (1985), but it was at a club that use to be called the
  379. Diamond and it was licenced (3 years short of entry!!) The next time was at
  380. Nathan Phillip Square in 1990 ( pre sideways) and then in 1991 (durning the
  381. sideways tour)
  382. I have a video of MWHs at the Spectrum in Montreal (MuchMusic) as well as a
  383. little footage from the "where do the boys go?" tour.
  384. If any one is intrested... i have copies of the ORIGINAL MWHs indie recording
  385. (all on vinyl) ...id be willing to make cass copies....
  386. If anyone has a rare CFNY (fm radio) recording of a 1983 show in
  387. Toronto...please write me.....its the one thing id like to add to my
  388. collection!

  390. Ive always had a huge amount of respect towards Ivan and Stefan (and Colins
  391. amazing Centrifugal Force CD  ***new CF out in Spring as well as Ivans
  392. forthcoming project !) and i think its cool that im not the only one that
  393. was inspired by the hats music.

  518. No, they are two different ones.  The 2-fer is two albums together in one 
  519. package.  Meaning "Rythm of Youth" and "Folk of the 80s part 3".  Right 
  520. now, it's only going to be available outside of North America (I don't 
  521. know when it will be released).  "Greatest Hats" is a collection of their 
  522. hits.  It is the Canadian version of "Collection".

  543. 3 weeks ago, I received the Collection album from MWH (in import).  I am from
  544. Montreal, so I went to the store and I saw the Cd from the hats,  It's called
  545. GREATEST HATS.  It is distributed by Aquarius (Corey Hart, etc.).

  547. The difference is, they put Sideways, On tuesday and Freeways (Euro mix) and
  548. they remove Messiah die young, I got the message (remix).

  550. I didn't buy, I dont know if the images inside are the same....

  588. The coolest thing just happened.  A friend from high school whom I haven't
  589. spoken to in years called me up on the phone.  He asked me if I knew why he
  590. was calling.  When I replied that I didn't, he reminded me that today is Men
  591. Without Hats Day.
  592.  
  593. I couldn't help but laugh out loud.  Tom and I were big MWH fans back in the
  594. days of Rhythm Of Youth, and we decided (along with another friend and fan,
  595. Dave) that November 14th should be MWH Day, in honor of the cute lyric from
  596. "Things In My Life".  The only custom for MWH Day was to listen to the first
  597. album, of course.  To this day (what, a dozen years later?) I think I have
  598. only forgotten once.  Until this year, when it completely slipped my mind.
  599.  Big thanks to Tom for reminding me.

  601. Note:  The Tom mentioned is not the famous listmember, though when I told him
  602. I was on a MWH list, he laughed and thought about joining up (we'll see).  He
  603. was also really pleased to see the MWH homepages, etc., on the web.  (It had
  604. just never occurred to him to look.)

  615. cumbersome or not, the fact that I receive it only about once a week is cause
  616. for some frustration.  It's hard to keep up a thread under such
  617. circumstances.  Couldn't you please return it to a daily issue?

  635. What a great idea!  Why didn't I think of that?  Too bad November 14th 
  636. passed, but why not a Men Without Hats month?  :)  Just think of all the 
  637. things you can do!!!
