  47. PLEASE READ THIS IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT.

  49. Because cs.uwp.edu is due to be decommissioned soon, the hats, jarre, 
  50. kraftwerk, and yello mailing lists are moving from cs.uwp.edu to xmission.com.
  51. Here is a list of steps being taken to make this move happen.
  52.  
  53.   * All subscribers to the digest versions of the lists have been moved to
  54.     the regular interactive versions so that they will see this announcement
  55.     as soon as possible.
  56.  
  57.   * New versions of the lists and their digests are now up and running at
  58.     xmission.com.  SUBSCRIBERS WILL NOT BE AUTOMATICALLY MOVED TO THE NEW
  59.     LISTS.  YOU MUST RESUBSCRIBE AT THE NEW LOCATION.  To do so you will need
  60.     to send at least two email messages:
  61.  
  62.     1) Send email to majordomo@cs.uwp.edu with the command
  63.  
  64.           unsubscribe listname
  65.  
  66.        on a line by itself, where "listname" is hats, jarre, kraftwerk, or 
  67.        yello, as appropriate to the list(s) you're on.  If you are on more
  68.        than one list, your message should include one unsubscribe command
  69.        for each list you're on, with each command on a line by itself.  You
  70.        should NOT include the "-digest" part of the listname, even if you
  71.        were on the digest version of the list before you received this message.
  72.  
  73.     2) Send email to majordomo@xmission.com with the command
  74.  
  75.       subscribe listname
  76.  
  77.        on a line by itself, where listname is hats, hats-digest, jarre,
  78.        jarre-digest, kraftwerk, kraftwerk-digest, yello, or yello-digest
  79.        as appropriate to the list(s) you want to be on.  As with the
  80.        unsubscribe commands, if you want to be on more than one list you
  81.        need to send each subscribe command on a line by itself.
  82.  
  83.        In order to keep spammers from mailbombing the lists, the xmission
  84.        versions of the list are closed.  This means that you'll receive two
  85.        messages as part of your new subscription to the xmission versions
  86.        of the list: the first message will acknowledge that your request was
  87.        received and tell you that it must be manually handled by the list 
  88.        admin (me).  The second will be a copy of the list info file once 
  89.        I've actually forwarded the subscription request to majordomo.
  90.  
  91.     If you have any difficulty leaving the old lists or joining the new lists,
  92.     please email me directly at lazlo@swcp.com.
  93.  
  94.   * Messages posted to the old list addresses will be automatically forwarded
  95.     to the new lists for a short period.  PLEASE UPDATE ANY MAIL ALIASES YOU 
  96.     MAY HAVE SET UP FOR THE LISTS AND START SENDING YOUR POSTS TO THE NEW
  97.     LISTS INSTEAD OF THE OLD LISTS.  The only thing that will change is the 
  98.     machine name; "kraftwerk@cs.uwp.edu" becomes "kraftwerk@xmission.com", and
  99.     so forth.  The new lists will still be archived, so don't worry about 
  100.     missing messages if you don't get over to the new lists right away -- but 
  101.     please move as soon as you possibly can.
  102.  
  103.     DO NOT SEND MESSAGES TO BOTH LISTS IN THE HOPES OF "REACHING EVERBODY".
  104.     People on the xmission lists will get two copies of everything sent this
  105.     way, which will annoy them.

  369. I vote for deleting anything that was already featured on COLLECTION. 
  370. "Safety Dance" might be the obvious choice, but something tells me 
  371. that's going to be a major selling point. How about "Antarctica"?

  627. My reasons should already be clear, but I'll give them anyway:
  628.     (1) Using these substitutions would save us from having to 
  629.         remove a track.
  630.     (2) The album-length versions of these tracks are already
  631.         available (and in print!) on the _Collection_ CD, whereas
  632.         the single versions have never appeared on CD.
  633.     (3) An edited version of a track would be less objectionable 
  634.         to the 'casual' MWH fan than the omission of an entire 
  635.         song.  The inclusion of rarer versions of these songs 
  636.         (and the bonus version of Antarctica) would, on the
  637.         other hand, make the CD more appealing to collectors.
  638.      
  639. I would *much* rather see the 7" edits used on a two-fer CD than 
  640. see a track omitted entirely.  If this is impossible for some
  641. reason (unusable masters, for example), then I would very
  642. reluctantly suggest omitting "I Got The Message", since there
  643. are already two versions of that song available on _Collection_.
