So has anyone tried to convince Glen Cook that his fans need an Atlas of
the Black Company's travels? Perhaps a mock up of one of the Annals?

I don't think an Atlas would fit with his writing style.
From past Q/As asked at cons and posted here Cook seems to be the type
of author who makes it up as he needs as opposed to mapping out the
world before beginning to write - at least with the Black Company. He's
explained some inconsistencies in the books by having narrators say
distances were estimates and [if memory serves] that 3 different systems
of messuring distances were used - all roughly translated into one
system. That type of style doesn't lend itself well to concrete maps or
any kind of atlas.
But that's just my opinion - if Cook can make one I'd buy it.
Richard

I found that site, and near the end of the bibliography is the entry:
The Swap Academy (1970) (writing as [the aka name])
The Swap Academy was Cook's first book - one he wrote mainly to see if
he could write. It's a porn novel, one he used a pen name for. While
doesn't brag about that book neither does he deny he wrote it.
Based on the site I'd say his name is Glen Cook (or that's the name he
always writes under) and he used a pen name (the a.k.a.) on one book.

Hello all,
I've lurked for a while and rarely contributed, so I figure this time
around I can. :)
We all know of the maps available on the website. While I was reading
through the books I had my art program open, and updated the southern
map/added a bunch of notes (read: credits to the original authors; all
of my modifications/additions are in bold).
Perhaps this map would be of some use to some. Hoep the original
authors will excuse my impudence:

Just MHO.

Nice additions Trinixx. They help flesh out the map.

Subject: (glencook-fans) WorldCon Glen Cook Interview
As promised, when I saw Mr. Cook at the WorldCon, I asked him the
questions I chose from the requests you all sent me. Here are his responses:
1) News on the crime novel: He has a title (the Butcher's Apprentice)
but his agent isn't too enthusiastic about his prospects for being able
to pitch it to a publisher. IIRC, it's basically written and everything,
just waiting for his agent to to get it sold, but when (or if) that
happens is the big question...
2) Glen's opinion about eBooks: "If someone comes up to my agent with a
truckload of money wanting to put my stuff in electronic format, I have
no problem with that whatsoever." But I didn't get the idea he was
interested in pressing the issue to any great degree. I would say, if
you want to see Glen Cook's stuff in eBook format, write to his
publishers and let them know. Tor has put a lot of other authors' stuff
out there as eBooks, and my impression was that Glen wouldn't object if
they want to do the same for his books.
3) What's in the works: more Garrett Files books, and two more Black
Company books.
4) What about the unpublished Dread Empire book: Glen is currently in
the process of sorting through his papers (he has several file cabinets
packed full of various papers) and he's pretty sure it's in there. He
says that as far as he recalls, he had it about 85% written and if there
is sufficient interest he would be more than happy to finish it up and
send it off to the publisher. Again, your best chance of seeing this
book in print is to write his publisher and (politely) petition them to
publish it.
5) Glen's health: He said he'd had some weight-related problems and his
doctor has him on a weight-reduction program, which seems to be working
fine.
