Translation of russian word "duraley" is "fool"."
Perhaps the translator was thinking of an association with "moonstruck",
which means "consumed by a silly passion and behaving foolishly".
Just a guess.

My take on the time sequencing is it has only been a couple few years since the
series started. How hany references are there to the last case having ended "last
week", "a couple weeks ago", or "a few weeks back".
Hell, I think the last 3 or 4 have spanned a 6 month period at the most.
