Did you check that the wires to the socket are getting juice? How about the
tail light? Sometimes the connections in the socket get dirty or corroded,
preventing a good connection to the bulb. TW

Subject: (dr350) 110/80/18 rear way too small
My rear tire is a 110/80/18. I replaced the stock rear tire before I
knew anything about tire sizing and just went by what the Suzuki dealer
told me (honestly, he told me to get a 110/80/18). I have been
complaining about the bike being too small for me and maybe I have
discovered one reason why. I just saw a picture of myself on the bike
and I noticed how small the rear tire is. The undersized rear makes the
bike look like it's tilted back - kindof like the rear tire is sitting in
a hole. I want to change it to a 140/90/18 but Mike you said in your
9-20-99 post that this is a stretch for a stock DR. Is the limit for a
stock street version DR 130/90/18? Sorry for beating a dead horse!

Chuck;
I believe stock rear tire size is a 110/100 x 18. This tire has a taller
cross section and will be a taller tire overall (i.e. have a greater
circumfrence). The 80 series tire you have on now is not only too "low
profile" it is also pretty narrow (the actual tread width, from outside edge
to outside edge, is only 110mm's); the stock sized tire will put a 130mm wide
swath of knobs into your favorite tera firma.
Mike

Mark: I had the same problem - it turned out that vibration took its =

on the ground wire that is welded to the lamp socket. Check all wires =
at=20
the tail light withg an ohm meter. My taillight was mounted to the =
plastic=20

let=20
it go. Now that I have fixed the wires and bolted it through the frame=20
(subframe), I shouldn=27t have this problem anymore.
I hope this is the same problem you are experiencing....

I=27m looking for some help on a little electrical problem I developed =
during=20
our latest trip to the Black Rock Desert. My brake light is dead. The=20
bulb is good and so are the front and rear brake light switches as well =
as=20
the wiring to the light itself. All other lights on the bike work =
fine.=20
What am I missing here? My headlight is working but no taillight. =
The=20
only thing I can think of that might have caused the problem is that I=20
normally remove the front and rear turn signal stalks when I ride off =
road.=20
When I put the stalks back on this weekend, I still had a problem.
If Jesse is listening, I have got to find out where you are at in =
Grants=20
Pass. I live in Medford so I=27m not far away. I=27ve learned a lot from =
some=20
of your posts and have been thinking about doing a little more tinkering =
on=20
the bike...
Thanks to all,
Mark
