Yes. I did that, and noticed quite a change in handling. (I now use the
Pirelli MT 21's, exclusively.) At the motocross
track, the bigger tire really connected - I was the fastest bike off the
starting line, by far. Cool pulling those wheelies in the first several
gears.
However, I do most of my riding on fast gravel and dirt roads. The larger
tire precipitated a bad speed wobble, which I corrected with suspension
adjustments. Harder to fix was that the front tire tended to break loose
first, which was
disconcerting.
I did get about 25 - 30% more mileage from the larger tire.
Recently, I went back to 110/90 on the rear, and like it better. The bike
feels more
balanced, and now the front and rear tires break loose at about the same
time.
So, for situations where you need the extra traction (mud), the larger tire
may be better, but when high speed handling and balance is important, I
would stay with stock tire size. TW

Subject: (dr350) Seat wanted
Hello DR350 bretheren,
I just purchased an almost new 98DR350SE (120 miles) and thus far I love it
except for the stock seat. Beacuse I will be using the bike for touring as
well a commuting and dirt riding, I would like to investigate upgrading the
stock seat, but I don't want to trash mine in the process. Is there anyone
out there with a beater stock seat for sale? The cheaper the better...
I will make available the results of my experementation when done. I know
some of you are thinking "why doesent he just buy a Corbin?" and I'm
thinking $260 is a lot of money for a seat. I have constructed a seat for
one of my other bikes using fiberglass for the pan, a couple layers of 1"
closed cell foam, and some automotive vinyl, a total investment of about $40
bucks and its every bit as comfortable as the Corbins my butt has had the
pleasure of meeting.
Thanks in advance and have a good holiday!,

Subject: (dr350) White Bros products for DR
Finally got my newest WB catalog, took long enough. Any one tried the
easy pull clutch arm? When it first came out they wanted $60+ for it.
I did not get it for that reason. I do have the solid peg mounts for the
DRS. I was hosed for $60+ for them when they first came out. They are a
bitch to get in as is the original rubber is to get out. They do make
the pegs feel better I will admit, glad to see the prices of these
products more reasonable. The oversize headpipe is still listed, a
bargain compared to Stroker and others, it doesn't have fancy ceramic
but mine works fine and on the SuperTrapp you can connect it with a
$2.00 exhaust coupler from the auto parts store.
Other pipe brands may not be as easy as Jesse alluded to ( Mega Max
ect.) A couple of those good $4.00 exhaust pipe clamps and a trip to the
auto parts store and you SuperTrapp guys are in business, some bracket
adjustment may be necessary but it will work. Enough rambling, the
collarbone is healing and it is hot as hell here in GA today.
