Mitja,
The stock rear shock comes from Suzuki with too much rebound for the
stock
spring and linkage, I guess they figured too much was better than too
little if the external adjuster was removed. The valving internally is
very similar to the dirt only shock with the external rebound adjuster,
so
it acts as if it had an adjuster that is set all the way hard. The
stock
rear spring is approx. 5.7kg., and the shock is rebound valved for a
7.1kg.
spring. So the fix is either revalve the shock internally or install a
heavier spring. The problem with this is the 7.1kg spring is too stiff
for
you with the stock linkage and the stock spring is too soft for you no
matter how the shock is valved. The Kouba Links and a 7.1kg rear spring
may not be the cheapest at first but in the end is by far the best
solution
for the money thats available. Have a look at our web-page highlighted
below, it has more info on how things should work on that end of the
bike.
If I was too take the chain guard off I would replace it with the
shorter
dirt only one.

Pedro,
give these people a try. I have made one order with them and they deliver
what they say. I have also heard locally they sell good quality stuff. You
can also order a paper catalog from them as well as order online.

That front chain guard thing around the sprocket just collects dirt and small
rocks in behind there where I can't even wash it out with a hose. The last
time that happened, I removed the guard. Now my rule is to never mount the
bike with shoes that have laces. I also removed the other chain guards. It
sure makes it easier to clean and lube the chain. And lastly, many bikes I
see do not have chain guards.
I ride in tight woods and have never had any of the sticks that poke me and
my bike all the time, cause any problems with regards to the chain. Am I just
lucky so far?

The June issue of Dirt Bike has a good write up on the DRZ, DRZ E and E
models. It was worth reading. Kind of makes me think about selling my DR
(both of them) and buying the S model. The trick digital instrument package
would be a real asset on the events I attend.

Subject: (dr) 350s problems..
I just recently got a 91 DR350S which didn't show any problems at first but
just recently these problems popped up-
first, the right turn signal stopped blinking.. it would turn on and remain
on. the left signal works perfectly.
second, it is my belief that the brake light should be on dimly at all
times, and turn bright when the lever/pedal is pulled/pushed. well, the
brake light isn't usually on and sometimes turns bright when the brakes are
applied..
finally, sometimes, just sometimes, the bike will shift into neutral between
first and second especially when shifting quickly.. i think that's my fault
and not the bike's. btw, is it supposed to be tricky to get the bike into
neutral while the engine's running or does the clutch need servicing?
any help is appreciated.

Hi Fabian and others!
Hope this can be of any interest for you:
The reason for popping is that the air fuel mixture is to lean, meaning to
much air in relation to the fuel. When the spark plug ignites the mixture a
lean mixture burns slower than a correct mixture (reason for this is some
chemichal stuff!) When the exhaust port opens the gasses still hasn=B4t been
burnt completely so it travels out to the exhaust pipe. It=B4s very hot so
the gasses ignites. Therefore the popping.=20

Yeah!!! I got one Doug and it is awesome!!! The digital instrument
includes 3 odometers------2 of them are ressetable. And you can make one of
them count down (backwards) if you want, instead of forward!!!
Power---wow!!! No aftermarket stuff needed here!!!! The exhaust is
almost as light as any aftermarket.
I've trimmed a little weight off of mine here and there----even took off
the electric cooling fan. The offroad model doesn't even have one, so I
figured they put in on there in case some dimwit would leave the engine
running while for 25 minutes while waiting for a train. So far-----no
problem!!!!!
