This is for the Florida folks and others who come here to ride in the
Sunshine State. We are attempting to get through the legislature two bills
relating to dirtbikes/atvs/and dual sports. the first is to actually set up
a program to register off-road bikes and atvs and have the fees go into a
special fund designated for trail building, improvements, aquisitions, and
and what not. The second is to actually set up the fund.
These trails benefit off-road users AND dual sport riders! Why? because many
like to ride single track trails, and also, the jeep trails and roads we
ride as dual sporters are included.
So please help us out. We need to get this onto the Florida Senate Agenda.
Our House, passed it, but we need to put pressure on to at least get this
issue aired out and open to public debate and discussion. Don't let them
table it into obscurity! You always wondered what can you do to help, or
does my voice really count, nows the time and opportunity to say it and get
it done!
Thanks a billion,

Guy,
I have a LR Signature Progressive Rear spring in great condition that I
would sell to you for $40 plus the shipping cost. I liked it a lot when I
road mostly on the street with an occasional moderate trail ride. I think
it is a 350/390lb spring. I weigh 220lb without gear and had to add a bit
of pre-load to make it right for me which would make it just about perfect
for someone at your weight. If you ride a lot of dirt I would go with a
straight wound spring. I run a 6.7kg without the Kouba links. I will be
buying the links and a heavy 7.6kg spring from Jesse next week in the quest
to tame a wicked rear end hop in the whoops since revalving didn't do the
trick to my satisfaction. If I had been smart I would have bought an Ohlins
shock with the right spring and would have been finished a year ago.

Subject: (dr) New rear fender installed TRICK lookin!!!!!!!!!!
I installed my new rear MX fender from Maier today.I
have an SE model and there are a few things on this
I'd like to mention.First you will lose your license
plate mount and the light assembly for it.Under the
fender is a cage type bracket support that follows the
contour of the original fender. No good as it will
stick down when the new fender travels straight off
the rear seat.Next was optional but I left the grab
bar off and this includes the tool pouch.I had to
mount the turn signals on the holes that are furthest
back that the grab bar mounted on.I am going to
install a smaller newer styled tailight as the
original monster will be to heavy (and ugly) for the
fender without the under bracket.I also drilled out
the two holes that are up front for the grab bar and
put two bolts just for extra firmness. The DR looks
like a dirtbike now instead of a slithering serpant.I
am happy with the way it looks. The stock rear fender
was somthing that I always disliked about the DR this
is my opinion only.
