Hi all, has anyone tried this combination a D606 in the rear and a k139 =
front? My stock tires on my dual sport are in need of replacement and I =
am trying to decide between this combo. and the MT 21s. Also are rim =
locks something I should add and should I replace the stock tubes with =
heavy duty ones? The bike only has 1400 miles on it so the tubes should =
still be in good shape. I should also mention that I ride 90% offroad, =
woods and sandy loose soil. Thanks for the input.

Subject: (dr) DR650SE, Suspension and carb
I was wondering if somebody has done major suspension modifications on his
DR650SE (RaceTech cartridge emulators / gold valve for the shock / Oehlins or
Technoflex shock...).
If yes, please tell us your experience with it.
The same question about jet kits - any comments ?
And referring to Kurt Simpson's mail dated 03/31/00:
Kurt, you posted the dimensions of the spring. I have checked my spring
yesterday and I was astonished to see that the stock spring of my '96 european
modell has other dimensions:
On side of the spring is smaller, are you shure that yours is not ?
OD = 79 - 83 mm
ID = 55 - 59 mm
length = 260 mm
Coil diameter is about the same (12 mm)
Hey Kurt, will you ever get your bike ready and ride it ? I am looking forward
to your first impreesions.

I'm beginning to wonder particularly now that I just bought a new Quota. I
had Race Tech (Precision Concepts) anodize the forks and shock and put a
gold valve in the shock, I opted to postpone the emulator and just had him
equalize the damping in the front forks and install Larry Roesler Signature
Series springs. I just sent my shock to DualStar for fitting of a
progressive rear spring on the stock shock so I can't recheck the
measurements until it is returned. Does the White Brothers catalog list
dimensions of Eibach springs? I have the factory kit ready to install along
with SS brakelines front and rear. The swingarm is back...DualStar is
building a centerstand for it. I'm going to do a feature on the bike in Dual
Sport News and call it project dr650 of course.

IÆve had my pushbutton start æ94, model DR since it was new in May of Æ94.
The only time it has failed me was when a relay in the starter circuit
failed. ItÆs a small relay mounted just below the seat on the right side of
the frame. Other than that, it has always started. IÆm still running my
original battery after 12k miles.
