I'm wondering how many disks most people are running on their DR250Ss.
I'm also getting some soot with 9 disks. Is this normal or has someone
been into this bikes carb and rejetted a bit too rich? Air filter is
clean. Haven't pulled the plug yet :(....

Hi list, I came across a 1989 RMX 250 without a motor. The guy would sell
it to me for $200. It has the upside down forks on it. Does anybody know
if the forks and triple clamps will fit my 99 DR 350X? I was thinking about
buying it if at has some compatible parts for my bike.
Thanks, Chris

Hi,
I bought a used 1994 DR350S. I'm trying to determine the stock front/rear
sprocket sizes. The manual lists 'Final Reduction Ratio.......2.733 (41/15).
Is the 41/15 the stock spocket sizes?
Thanks,
Frank

Hi Frank
This depends on the country and yes it is the sprocket sizes. The later UK
model like mine uses 15/43 which is a good road gear. Most of us use 14/43
or equivalent for trail/road use. Lower if you only go off-road.

Thanks for helping me confirm that my bike does still have its stock 15/41
sprockets. I am looking for the happy medium between on and off road in
sprocket sizes. Should I go with the suggested 14/43 as stated or is there a
specific formula for figuring this out. I'm not sure if different year
DR350's are geared differently for a specific reason. I find nothing in the
manual on going to different sprocket sizes. Any input will help me greatly.
Thanks,
Frank

Hi Frank,
I've been changing primary sprockets on my 98 DR350SE. The factory
gearing is okay for street and mild off road. The 14 tooth is better off
road, but only needed if you want a bit more downhill engine braking. It
makes the bike a bit buzzy on the road. The 13 tooth would only be
needed for extreme off road, and not too usable on road.
Please remember to clip all except the pertinent part from the message
you respond to. This one had about three of the previous messages.
Listers with slow connections will appreciate this.

I have a 98SE and the stock gearing is 15-41.Jesse
pionted out the fact that it is better to stay with
the 15 front and increase the rear sprocket. This
allows more teeth to grab with a 15 than a 14 and the
sprocket will last longer at least in my case and I
agree.

Hi all!!!!!
This is my first post here-----I haven't even been lurking. But anyway I
just purchased my DRZ400S (Street Legal Model) today and will take possesion
tomorrow!!!! Boy did I make a few people mad that were hoping to get the
first one to the showroom floor!!! I just happened to be in the shop when
the truck called and said they were delivering a Hyabusa and a duaslport
tomorrow (Friday)-------I said "it's mine". Here's the money. Come to
Daddy!!!! "The Hyabusa???" Heck No----"The Dualsport"!!!
I'm not new to DR's at all-----I tried to wear out 2 ( a 1990 and 1991)
and just couldn't get the job done. Well I had a short stint with an XR, and
can't wait to try out the new Suzuki!!! I do have a "Strictly Dirt" bike
which I will use for the extreme rides----not that the Suzuki won't be up to
the task, but I am planning on doing a lot of backroading and milder trial
riding with this bike and not put it to the abuse of my Knobby tired rip-em
up bike!! I will be doing quite a bit of 2-up with it. My wife is tiny---
4'8". Can't hardly tell she's there.
I have question----which may be a bit to early for anyone to answer
since this bike is so new. I am going to the higher elevations of Colorado
this summer again. I will be taking my Transalp and the new Suzuki with me.
Anybody tried High elevations (11,000 ft.) yet??????? With stock
jetting????? I have had to always jet my previous dirt bikes---but I do
beleive the new Suzuki will have a constant velocity carburator and may
handle the high elevations a little better?????
Any help would be appreciated!!
Thanks!!

I have a '95 DR350SE that is no longer street legal. I have a rebuit stock rear
end and ProCircuit revalved front forks. I was wondering what the sag settings
should be and how to adjust them properly?
I am going to purchase the Kouba Links for the rear end. Do I need to wait till
I install these before I adjust the sag?
Jesse, you did say 7.5 weight Motul fork oil right? Did you ever check out that
