I've had a similar problem of stalling or hesitating. It seemed to happen when off road, but I could not predict when. It usually occurred at about 25-35 miles on a trail ride. Someone mentioned that it might be a loop seal in the vent hose on the carb. I'm not a mechanic so I took it to the local Suzuki shop. They took the vent hose from that appears to go up into the frame under the tank and routed it down. I've only been riding once since they did this and it has not happened yet. Also, the hose was filled with gas when it was disconnected which seemed suspicious. Something cheap to try.

freeway and all was well. However, if I stopped at a stoplight or just
wanted to run at a reduced RPM the bike would load up and die. Every now and
then the bike would seem to run normally and then about 15 mins later, back
to acting up. I was stuck out in the boonies and needed to get back to town
so I continued to ride the tempermental beast. Just for grins, I tried to
fiddle with the idle adjustment but this had absolutely no effect on the
engine idle, which made me think that a part of the carb had broken. I am
not the most proficient at mechanic work but this does seem strange. Is
there an issue with the DR's CV carb regarding riding style etc..?
Tonight I started the bike up after letting it sit for 24 hours. The bike
fired right up and runs great. Any suggestions as to what could be causing
the problem. So far this seems to be when I have run the bike at extremes
and not during regular riding. I don't think that should make a difference
but what do I know.
