OK we talked about this a few months back and I'd like to try it. I'd like to try
and expand the dr350 list to all dr's...I've just sold my KLR and as I suspected
that has focused my interest on both my dr350 and my dr650. In the last week I've
been in touch with half a dozen 650 owners. So, let's try it for a few months and
get a feel for it. If we put "dr350" "dr650" "dr200" "dr250" "dr400" in the
subject line then anyone who wishes (in the non-digest version) can use filters if
they wish. Please use lower case only.
I've set up the new account and will begin to double-check its readiness by
cross-posting for a few days...
Thanks very much,
Kurt Simpson

Malcolm Smith has an excellent 2 video series about
riding and it starts with the very basic newbie basics.
You can get them through mail order from holeshot racing
www.ktm-racetech.com
They don't have them listed, but I know they stock them.

No Kurt,
Thank YOU! I for one, and I'm sure many others, really appreciate
your hard work on the list.
Hopefully EVERYONE will use the subject line to denote which model
their message is specific to. If not specific, just don't put any model.

Subject: (dr) DR-350 Seat for Touring
List,
Finally have a question that maybe somebody can help me with.
I may be riding my DR-350 to Daytona from Ohio for Bike Week -
*maybe*. The seat is stock, and past experience has shown me it's the
worst seat I've ever sat on - I've got 41k miles on the bike itself
and so by now, I'm sure.
Any recommendations on seats?
Other equipment that I'd welcome comments on:
I've got Hot-grips ordered.
Luggage will be: a small tank bag, Aerostich tank panniers (if
anybody's got experience with them comments are welcome), Eclipse
saddlebags (the kind that's out of production, with the semi-rigid
internal frame), and a drybag bungeed onto the back seat. A set of
side racks will keep the bags off the pipes.
I've got a Clarke tank, so the range at legal speeds is Ok. Also a +1
tooth countershaft sprocket for easier highway cruising.
Am sure somebody out there's done something this silly - any tips /
pointers are appreciated.
Best,
Doug Grosjean

OK, i've been double checking the lists and working through a few snags on
configuration and I think we're about ready. What I want to do is to give a one day
notice with this message and then pull the plug on the "dr350" list...taps anyone? If
everything is working right each subscriber will get two copies of this message. If
you only receive one, the "dr350" message than write me and I'll double-check your
subscription on the new list. Once the plug is pulled you'll need to change your
address book so that all messages are sent to "dr@lists.xmission.com".
If anyone is confused please write me. Again, let's try this for a few months. The
volume on the 350 list has been very light...who knows the 650 enthusiasts may perk
it up a bit. When all is said and done there is a lot of cross-over info. IMO.
Thanks again,
Kurt
