Part 2
Jesse stared at Xander, "Man, what has come over you?" Xander looked up
at Jesse and gave him a small grin. "What a guy can't be happy to see his
best friend?" Jesse untangled himself from Xander's grasp and gave a
slightly nervous laugh. "Xander, you just saw me last night when you and
Buf were out patroling." Willow looked towards Xander with a confused, yet
worried look on her face. "Are you alright?" Xander backed up a couple of
steps. "Patroling?"
Buffy crossed her arms and said, "Yeah, remember Patroling? When we go out
and slay vampires?" Xander nodded. "Yes, I remember patroling. But what
about this we thing? You always say You patrol we stay in the background."
Giles frowned. "Xander, what are you talking about. You and Buffy have
been a team since she was killed by the Master when you became a slayer as
well."
Xander felt as if his jaw were going to fall off, "You're joking. Kendra
is the other slayer." Buffy looked confused. "Who's Kendra?" Xander sat
down and put his head in his hands. <I don't believe this! How could this
of happened?> Buffy walked over and put her arms around Xander and said
quietly, "What's wrong? You aren't acting like yourself." Xander looked
frantically between his friends. "Um...uh...nothing, nothing's wrong. I
just...uh...nothing. Um, where's Cordy?" Giles looked at Xander
momentaraily startled. "Cordy? Oh! Oh you mean Ms. Chase. Yes, well..."
Xander glanced between Giles and Buffy, noting the looks of sadness on
their faces. "Xander, Cordelia has been dead for a few months now. Ever
since the Order of
Teraka came through." Xander was glad that he was sitting down, he didn't
think his legs would be able to hold him at that moment. "Bu- But I was
there. We got out of the house without Maggot Man getting a hold of us."
Willow shook her head. "Xander, what are you talking about? You were here
training while Cordelia went looking for Buffy." Xander felt tears well up
in his eyes. <My Cordy...She's dead? She can't be dead, I just saw her
yesterday! But yesterday, Jesse was dead, and now he's standing here. Oh
god, what have I done.> Xander looked up at his friends and blinked back
the tears. "I must have...forgotten. Excuse me, I'll be back in a minute."
He quickly left the library leaving the others staring after him. "Is
anyone else as confused as to what just occured here as I am?" Giles asked.
Outside the school Xander looked around then shouted, "I don't want this!
Take it back! Give me back my old life!" From behind him a smooth voice
said, "Oh, but I can't do that, My Boy." Spinning, Xander took in the
appearance of this mystery man. Tall and wiry, he reminded Xander a bit of
Spike, but his hair was jet black and hung well past his shoulders. He was
dressed all in black, black tshirt, dress pants, shoes and sport jacket.
The only color was a blood red rose pinned to his lapel. His eyes were
even black. "Why not? If you can grant my fantasy why can't you take it
away?" Xander panted, even though he hadn't been running. "Alexander, I
have given you a gift." The man said. "But Cordelia is dead because of
it!" Xander shouted. The man shrugged. "Sad, yes. But you have Buffy,
why would you want that stuck up little snob?" Xander ran his hand through
his hair frustrated. "Because! I...Well, I...I have no right to take her
life just to make mine better!" The man smirked. "Casualty of war then.
She would have died weather you had been there or not. It was in the
cards. Some fluke made her survive the first time." Pacing back and forth
Xander shook his head. "No, being with Buffy is great and
wonderful, but it's not worth this!" The man, examined his nails, and
snapped his fingers. "Xander, you haven't even begun to pay for this yet."
Xander turned, staring at the man. "What do you mean?"
The man walked towards Xander and put a hand on his shoulder. Xander was
surprised to feel a burning heat from the man's hand. "Everything has a
price, Xander. Surely you know that." Xander blinked and started to pull
away from the man. "You said this was a gift!" The man smiled. "Even gifts
have a price." Xander stared at the man, and watched in shock as a pair of
small horns grew from the man's head and his legs bent oddly, his feet
becoming cloven hooves.
"And now I'll tell you your price..."

Cursed
#1 Destined to Kill
Idea by: Slayer01
Written By: Taygeta
The bus's air conditioner hummed loudly as Leifa Tidier eyed the
barren desert that stretched for hours on end in front of the window.
She related to each passing green object that came into her viewpoint
through the window. They were a lot like heràclinging for
existenceàtrying to live a life, and not knowing if in the end they would
succeed.
She had come a long way and had many miles ahead of her before
she could ever reach her destinationàSunnydale, California. But what was
all of this for? Was it for the centuries old curse on her family
because of their blindness towards a hidden demon and in those moments of
ignorance allow him to take residence in their home? The Tidier family
was not to be blameàcould not be blamed because of their ignorance, but
they were condemned to this curseàall because of one stupid mistake.
They trusted too much and what good did that do them? A tarnished image
and a footing of fault in the eyes of Hykalr Society, and a curse to
followàwas that all that could be receive in trust?
Why did this curse have to damn the generations that had played
no part in this game? Why was the first-born always the one to have to
sacrifice their lifeà given up what they could have beenàto destroy this
creature of the night? Leifa cursed softly under her breath as she
usually did at the ancient ancestors of the Rtyira family, who's even
more antique knowledge in majicks kept this curse alive. Their image of
the victim, Mishala Rtyira, was so idyllically exaggerated that none of
it was truly conceivable, but it was this exaggeration that the Hykalr
Society allowed them to keep this curse for so many generations
thereafter.
In reality, Mishala probably wouldn't have died if she hadn't
approached the handsome visitor to the Tidier home, for the Rtyira lived
a few miles away, but everyone knew that at 16, she was in desperate
search for a mate. Although, modern customs have changed this, in the
Society's ancient ways, it was implied shameful for any family not to
have their eldest daughter wed by the age of 17. Mishala was a lazy
young woman and had no means to fend or care for herself, let alone
others, and the men knew this and steered clear of her and her majicks.
No amount of her power, however, helped much when she found and was
attacked by the evil guest.
But these ideas, of course, were lost in the shuffle and had been
long forgotten by everyone except the Tidier clan, who had a bitter taste
in their mouth at her very name. It was the taste of Hate. Leifa
disliked it, but she couldn't help but feel its wickedness course through
her blood at every reminder of the family curse. And never did it run
thicker than when she realized that it was time to leave the home that
she had lived in the entirety of her 16 years. She could still hear the
High Councilman's voice constantly, echoing in her mind, "It is time for
Leifa Rukenof Tidier to become one with the destiny that her ancestors
chose for her by their mistakes. It is time for the first-born of Jacob
Tidier to go forth and seekàto huntàand to killà"
Kill. She despised the word even more so than that of Hate. She
had never consciously killed in her life, and nor did she want to. She
feared Death and it's unsteady hand that she often saw reaching out for
her in the darkness. She felt its approach now, and shivered at its
closeness. She knew that the only way to escape the graspàthe bony
fingers gripping for her lifeàwas to follow the rule of "kill or be
killed," and if killing was what she had to do, so be it. As far as
Leifa was concerned, Angelus was already dead.

Summary: Xander gets his wildest fantasy, but what is the price?
Part 3
Xander looked horrified as he stared at the demon in front of him. He
started backing away, even as he felt a surge of energy, the Slayer's
Energy. <But that's impossible! The Slayer is always female!> The dremon
chuckled reading Xander's thoughts. "Yes, I had a hell of a time pulling
that one off. Do you know how hard ot was to force the Slayer's energy
into your body?" Xander couldn't believe this was happening. "Now, My
Boy...the price of this fantasy of
yours..." The demon leaned against a tree and waved his hand, producing a
lit cigarette out of thin air. He took a long drag then said, "The gypsies
are being a pain in the ass once again. You see they've taken my boy
Angelus and given him back his soul. They seem to think he should be
cursed with the damn thing again after that lovely mind fuck with Janna.
Now, the problem is this...they've figured out a way to make the curse
permenant. So that no matter what he'll always have the remorse." He
stopped for a moment and grimaced. "Doesn't it make you want
to PUKE?!"
The demon pushed himself off the tree, causing it to bend backwards
slightly, and grabbed Xander by the colar. "Now, here's what you will do.
You will kill Angel. And you will do it before tomorrow night at
midnight." His voice became as smooth as silk once more. "And you see, if
you fail, then you. Are. Mine. You will be mine to toy with and torture
for all eternity." He gigled suddenly. "Hee! Hee! Either way I win!"
Xander stared at him in shock. <Me? I've got to kill Angel?> The demon
smiled slowly. "Oh I know, you want to kill Angel anyway. After all, with
him in the picture again, that hottie Buffy isn't yours anymore. And, he's
terroized you all so much." The demon sighed regretfully. "He always was
my favorite. Ah well. I have mortals to terroize. Ta!" Xander blinked
and the demon was gone.
"Xander?" He turned when he heard Buffy call to him. "Over here, Buf."
She walked over to him and planted a quick kiss on his cheek. "Are you
OK?" Xander slowly sank to the ground and shook his head. "No. No, Buffy,
I'm deffinately not on this side of OK." Buffy kneeled beside him. "Want
to talk about it?" He shook his head. "Buffy, how, and when did we start
dating?" Buffy smiled slightly, humoring him. "Well, it was when we found
out Oz was a werewolf. You and I had gone to the funeral home to see if
Theresa's body had been mauled. We found out instead that...that Angelus
had made her into a vampire. After you dusted her, you held me and then we
kissed each other. We've been dating ever since." Xander nodded. "I was
just checking to see you
remembered." Buffy smiled sardonically. "Right." She stood up and took
his hand, pulling him up as well. "C'mon, Giles wanted me to come and find
you. He found another part of this prophesy." As they walked Xander
thought to himself. <So many things are different now. Cordelia's dead,
Buffy and me dating, Jesse's alive...that whole Love Spell never happened,
is Angel's life worth giving up all these good things? Well all good
except Cordy's death.>
As they entered the library Xander put it out of his mind. He rubbed his
hands together and said, "Ok, G-Man, what have you got for me?" Giles
handed him a book and said, "See if you translate it the same as I do."
Xander took the book, amazed again that he could read the latin words, but
liked having the skill. "It says, ' The demon with the Soul is the key.' " He
stopped reading for a moment then after a nod from Giles continued, " 'The
Demon with the Soul is the key, he must help protect the Slayer, for
without him, the Slayer will...." His voice trailed off and all the blood
drained out of his face. "Without him what, Xander? Don't you dare try
and hide this from me!" Buffy said threateningly. Xander licked his lips
and continued. "Without him
the Slayer will die and the HellMouth will open."
