Summary: This is a Xander POV story for Bewitched, Bothered, &
Bewildered. I know he was pretty much the main character in the story,
but I thought it would be fun to get inside his head.
Rating: PG
Time line: Bewitched, Bothered, & Bewildered.
Disclaimer: Most of the characters in this story belong to Joss Wheadon
ect. The original story was written by Marti Noxon. The episode was
directed by James A. Contner

Xander got to school early the next morning. He found a seat on a bench
that he figured gave him the best chance of spotting Willow, when she
arrived.

As he sat there waiting, he noticed the different looks he got from
people as they walked by. The guys tended to ignore him as usual.
Occasionally one would look at him with a strange expression that bore a

slight resemblance to anger.

But some of the women were very different. Many ignored him like before.

But some would look away quickly embarrassed. Others looked at with a
touch of anger or disgust on their faces. Then a third very small group
actually smiled at him. Was that an aftereffect of the spell that would
go away with time? He=92d have to ask Giles about that. Then again, maybe
asking anything of Giles right now, wasn=92t a good idea.

Xander was so deep in thought that he almost missed Willow as she walked

by. When he did see her, she was just a few feet away walking in his
general direction. Xander couldn=92t help notice that she looked every
where but at him.

Xander almost let her go by, then he decided to try to talk to her any
way.

=93Willow.=94 He said as she walked by. But she ignored him and continued
walking by. Xander stood up, followed, and said. =93Will, I=85=94 He coul=
d
tell from the way she walked that she wouldn=92t talk to him. He knew
Willow Rosenberg better that he knew anybody else in the world, so he
knew how stubborn she could be when she wanted to. Xander stopped
following her as he thought, Maybe in time she will forgive me.



After his first period class, Xander was walking towards his next class
brooding. He was getting quite good at it. Hey, he thought, Maybe I
should brood more. Maybe with practice I might get good enough to
attract girls. It had worked for ol' dead-boy, hadn=92t it?

=93Earth to Xander.=94 Xander had been in such deep thought that he hadn=92=
t
noticed that Buffy had walked up and started talking to him.

=93Oh, Hi Buff.=94 He said forcing a smile.

=93You seem to be in good shape, after you exciting day yesterday.=94

=93And you=92re not a rat anymore.=94 Xander said. Then his voice got ser=
ious
as he said, =93Look Buffy, I=92m really sorry about that. I didn=92t mean=
 for
that to happen. I didn=92t mean for any of it to happen. I really messed
up bad. I=92ve learned my lesson.=94

=93It=92s okay, really.=94 Buffy said with a smile. =94I=92ll recover. Bu=
t what I
want to know is how you guys ended up in my basement?=94

Xander explained the events as best he could, trying not to leave out
any details. After he finished with the part where the spell broke,
Buffy said, =93Scavenger Hunt.=94

=93Your mom seemed to buy it.=94

=93She says so.=94 Buffy said. =93She=92s so wigged at hitting on one of =
my
friends that she=92s repressing. She=92s getting pretty good at that. I
should start to worry.=94

=93Well I=92m back to being incredibly unpopular.=94 Xander said.

=93It=92s better that everyone trying to ax-murder you, right?=94

=93Mostly,=94 Xander said, =93But, uh, Willow won=92t even talk to me.=94

Buffy looked up at Xander and said, =93Any particular reason she should?=94

=93How much groveling are we talking here?=94

=93Oh at least a month.=94 Buffy said as she stopped to look at him.
=93Xander, come on. This is worse for her that anyone=85 She loved you
before you evoked the great Roofie spirit. The rest of us=85=94

=93You remember, huh?=94 Xander asked.

=93Oh yeah.=94 Buffy said. =93I remember coming on to you. I remember beg=
ging
you to undress me=85 And then a sudden need for cheese. I also remember
you didn=92t=94

=93Need cheese?=94 Xander asked with a smile.

=93Undress me. It meant a lot to me what you said.=94

=93C=92mon, Buffy. I couldn=92t take advantage of you like that. Okay, fo=
r a
minute it was touch and go there=85=94

=93You came through. There just might be hope for you yet.=94

=93Well, tell that to Cordelia.=94 Xander said.

=93You=92re on your own there.=94 Buffy said. Then she turned and walked
towards the library leaving Xander alone again with his thoughts.



After his next class, Xander was walking outside in the general
direction of the cafeteria. His depression was worse because in the
class he just finished, Willow had moved to a seat as far away from as
she could get. So he didn=92t notice Harmony until she bumped into him.

=93Watch it!=94 The blond girl said.

Xander looked behind Harmony, sure enough, there was Cordelia, looking
fabulous. Why did she have to be here, thought Xander, as he said,
=93Sorry.=94

=93God!=94 Harmony said, as she looked Xander up and down. =93Y=92know, I=
=92m glad

your mom stopped working at the drive through long enough to dress you.=94

Then she turned to Cordelia and said, =94Oh, that reminds me.=94

Xander just turned and walked away, feeling totally humiliated.

Then he heard Cordelia say, =93Harmony shut up.=94 Xander stopped walking
and turned around.

=93Do you know what you are?=94 Cordelia asked. =93You=92re a sheep.=94

=93I=92m not a sheep.=94 Harmony said lamely in her defense.

=93You=92re a sheep.=94 Cordelia continued. =93All you ever do is what ev=
eryone
else does just so you can say you did it first. And here I am,
scrambling for your approval, when I=92m way cooler than you =91cause I=92=
m
not a sheep. I do what I wanna do, and I wear what I wanna wear. And You

know what?=94

Xander couldn=92t help breaking out in a smile hearing Cordelia blast
Harmony.

=93I=92ll date whoever the hell I wanna date.=94 Cordelia said.

That=92s my girl, Xander thought to himself.

=93No matter how lame he is.=94  Cordelia concluded.

Hey, let=92s not go too far, Xander thought as the smile disappeared from
his face.

Cordelia turned her back on Harmony and friends and walked to Xander. He

smiled as she took his arm, and they continued to walk away.

Then Cordelia got this look on her face as if she=92s going to pass out
and said, =93Oh, God! Oh, God!=94

Xander patted her hand and said, =93You=92re gonna be okay. Just keep
walkin=92=94

=93Oh God,=94 She said. =93What have I done? They=92re never going to tal=
k to me

again.=94

=93Oh, sure they are.=94 Xander said. =93If it=92ll help, whenever we=92r=
e around
them we can fight a lot.=94

Cordy smiled her best smile at Xander, and asked, =93You promise?=94

Xander thought to himself, Man have I missed that smile. Then he smiled
back and said, =93You can pretty much count on it.=94

Her smile grew even prettier than before.

They walked along in silence for a while. Just as they enter the
building, Xander suddenly felt himself pulled off balance by Cordelia.
He smiled at her said, =93Hey. What=92s the deal?=94

Cordelia smiled and pointed with her eyes. He followed her gaze to a
door to the right marked =93Utility Closet=94. When he looked back at
Cordelia she smiled and raised her eyebrows, asking an unspoken
question.

Xander grinned and nodded his head as he thought to himself, Man it=92s
good to have things back to normal. Or at least as close to normal as it

gets on top of the hell-mouth.

Summary:  Xander gets his wildest fantasy, but what is the price?
Note:  This is my first fanfic I've ever even considered sending out on a
list.  This is only the first part, depending on how well folks like it,
I'll write more.  So send feedback, please.

Fantasies part 1


    Walking along in the graveyard was nothing new to Alexander Harris.  He
had a wooden cross in one hand, his eyes darting back and forth waiting for
the danger he knew to be lurking there.  What was new was the fact that in
his other hand was a small, warm, soft hand.  He looked over to the owner
of the hand and did a double take.  He looked the owner of the hand up and
down.  "B-Buh- Buffy?"  The owner of the hand turned her head towards him,
her blonde hair whiping out behind her.  "Yes?"  Xander stared at her for a
moment then stammered, "You...You're holding my hand!"  Buffy laughed and
gave him half a smile.  "Yeah.  Isn't that what a girlfriend does when
taking a lesuirely stroll through the cemetary?"  Xander continued to stare
at her, taking in her slim frame, and the short dark green dress she was
wearing.  She had never looked more beautiful.  "Girlfriend?"  Buffy gave a
short laugh, but frowned. "Xander that's not funny.  Are you trying to tell
me you don't want me to be your girlfriend anymore?"  Quickly he shook his
head. "Of course not!"  She grinned in a cute, pouty sort of way. "Good."
    Xander continued walking along, thinking to himself <I'm dreaming, I must
be dreaming.>  Because of his line of thought, he wasn't paying attention
and found himself tackled to the ground the very next instant. "BUFFY!"  He
screamed as the vampire responsible for tackling him snarled, moving close
to his neck.  Without wasting any time, Buffy grabbed the vampire by the
back of the neck and jerked him off Xander.  "Nobody messes with my
boyfriend's neck but me!"  Xander scrambled away from the ensuing fight,
watching Buffy's
lightning quick reflexes.  He had watched her many times over the years but
never ceased to be in awe of her abilities.  Buffy lashed out at the
vampire with what appeared to be a routine series of kicks, punches, and
throws.  When she suddenly froze mid-kick, Xander knew something was wrong.
 When he saw the vampire frozen as well he was sure that trouble was coming
for him.
    "Interesting girl you have there, Alexander."  Xander spun around at the
sound of an unfamiliar voice.  "Who are you?  What's going on here?"
Xander asked quickly.  A man steped out of the shadows, looking Xander
over. "Well, one good thing is that with her as your girlfriend you start
dressing better."  He gave the young man another look. "At least you match
now." Xander frowned. "Hey, have you come here just to slam my fashion
sense?"  The man smiled.  "Of course not."  He brushed an invisible piece
of lint from his black shirt. "I have come here to fulfill your wildest
fantasies."  Xander laughed. "Right, and you would, or even could do that
why?"  The man smiled.  "I would because you, my dear boy are a hero.  You
have saved this young woman's life many times over."  He gestured towards
Buffy before continuing," You've kept the HellMouth closed with your
sacrifices, like giving up your best friend."  At that Xander heard a
familiar voice that he hadn't heard in much too long.  "Xander, man what
are you doing out here in the cemetary at this time of night?!"  Xander
stared in shock.  "J-Jeh-Jesse!"  Jesse steped from the shadows, looking
completely human.  "Oh, I get it, you and Buffy are out for some R&R?  No
problem man, I'll see ya in school tomorrow.  Later!"  Before Xander could say
anything Jessie was off, trotting through the cemetary heading in the
direction of his old house.
    Xander rubbed his face, and pinched his arm. <I HAVE to be dreaming!
Jesse has been dead for almost two years!>  The man smiled. "Oh no, Jesse
is very much alive now.  As I said I'll  fulfill your wildest fantasies."
Xander stared at the man, a hopeful longing etched onto his face.  "If only
you could!"  The man smiled once more.  Then he said in a voice as smooth
as silk, "Oh but I can." Xander watched as the man melted back into the
shadows as he heard him say, "And I will."
            ******************************************

    The sound of his alarm clock made Xander jolt out of the dream.  He looked
around his room and saw everything was normal. He sighed and ran his hand
through his thick black hair.  "I was dreaming."  He reflected on the dream
for a moment then muttered. "Damn."  Pulling himself out of bed, he never
looked at the picture of Buffy, Willow and himself, only now, a familiar
freind was in the picture as well.
    The walk up to Sunnydale High School was an odd one as far as Xander was
concerned.  He was bewildered by the friendly waves and calls of "Hey
Xander!"  He heard coming from many people.  As he walked into the library
he said, "Is it just me or has everyone been hit by the 'I'll be nice'
stick?"  The librarian, Rupert Giles looked up. "Oh hello, Xander.  I was
hoping you
would come in this morning."  Xander blinked. "You were?"  Giles nodded
once, looking over a worn-looking book. "There is a prophesy here that I
thought you might be interested in hearing."
    Not believing his ears, Xander walked over and looked at the book.
"Giles, this is latin, how'm I supposed to..." His voice trailed away as
his eyes skimmed the text and he found that he could read it perfectly.
"It says that the demon with a soul will return to aid the slayer."  His
voice was filled with wonder.  Giles nodded.  "Yes, that is excatly how I
translated it.  Which means, that we
should expect Angel to be returned to us any day now."  Xander nodded.
"Right....but why are you telling me this, G-Man?"
    He jumped a little as a pair of arms snaked around his waist from behind.
"Because, lover of mine, he wanted to warn you before my ex showed up in
our lives again."  Xander's jaw dropped as Buffy Summers kissed his cheek.
Unable to form a coherent thought for a moment, he simply stared at her,
until he heard the library door open and the sound of Willow Rosenburg's
voice.  "Oz is so great, though!  He is such a good player...of guitars
that is.  I just don't
understand why you don't like him!"  Xander turned, about to make a comment
about Willow's boyfriend, but was shocked into silence when he saw Willow's
companion. "Because of the band, Wil, who would be sick enough to name a
band 'Dingos ate my baby'?"  Xander shook off his shock and ran to Willow
and her companion. "Jesse!"  He hugged his friend tightly, ignoring that
shocked looks on his friends faces. <He did it! He really made my fantasies
come true!>
