Manuel,
I emailed to Luis Coloma, the son of Jose Coloma who recorded
the bandolin CD that I wrote to the list about last summer. Luis
is now learning the bandolin from his father. Luis says that the
tuning is:
1 La
2 Mi
3 Si
4 Fa sostenido
5 Do sostenido
Those are of course the tunings for each group of 3 strings. As I
recall, C is the same as Do, right? Which would make the tuning
A-E-B-Fa-C. Or am I out of order?

Pretty cool!
"Cuando llegue el dia" ... interesting, the old "Aguita de Putinha"
khantu from Charazani with lyrics and performed as a huayno, very
interesting.
"Chilhuanos" is reminiscent of Los Jairas... Manuel, do you have
any CDs by Los Jairas that you could sample on your page? More
people need to know Los Jairas... and how their legacy lives on
after more than 30 years.
Gracias!

Hi List
A while back someone was asking about lyrics, versions and history
of Condor Passa. I just found an old file with this lyrics site :
http://www.geocities.com/Broadway/Stage/4447/english.html
Maybe this is helpful lead.

Thanks! That was me that was looking for information on El Condor Pasa...
I've found some pretty interesting information, I found an old piano
version that supposedly was the "most authentic version" although I'm not
sure now if it really was the original. It's completely different from
the version that everyone knows, only the pasacalle is recognizable (which
makes me wonder where the other parts came from)... I think every "answer"
I've found about this piece has led me to more questions! I was
researching it for a university project and the project is over now, but
I'd still be interested if anyone finds any more info about this piece, I
think it's really fascinating how popular it has become and how little is
known about its past.
And thanks to everyone who helped me with my project, gracias a todos! :-)
