  2. prot_tut

  5. prot_tut has been developed for second year undergraduate biochemistry
  6. students at Leicester University.  This gives them "hands on" experience of
  7. protein structures using interactive molecular graphics on a Mac with colour
  8. screen.  It starts by introducing secondary structural elements before
  9. presenting structures which are of particular interest in Leicester.  The
  10. tutorial requires version 2.3 of David Richardson's Kinemage program, which is
  11. available with the journal Protein Science.  The tutorial is loaded from
  12. within the program and is intended to be self explanatory.

  14. The tutorial comes as a text file (and should also work with the PC version of
  15. Kinemage).  Please feel free to ammend it to suit your own needs.

  17. The program (in Mac or PC versions) and a set of 40 examples from the book
  18. "Introduction to Protein Structure" (C. Branden and J. Tooze (1991), Garland
  19. Press, New York - a strongly recommended read to those who have not seen it)
