Dresden - August-27 1813
#normal
Player one, you are Napoleon the Ist, Emperor of the frenchs, and the Great Army is under your command.
On the 19 August the Allied Army of Bohemia has advanced from it's Bohemian bases and into Saxony, planning
to capture Dresden (the main French supply center) whilst you were busy operating against Blucher in Silesia.
Unfortunately for them you have received word of this on the 22nd and rushed to support the Dresden garrison
(commanded by St Cyr) with elements of your main army (including the Imperial Guard). On the 26th the Allies
have assaulted Dresden, and although some headway nave been made casualties have been were high and French
resistance heavy. Continual rain and the heavy mud has not helped the Allies. Consequently the attack has been
broken off but apparently, the allies have resolved to risk a second day of battle.
During the night further French reinforcements have arrived and it has continued to rain. Meanwhile, to the east
Vandamme has been threatening to move against the Allied right and rear.
You have the opportunity of inflicting a decisive defeat on the enemy as you have pinned the main Allied army in
a somewhat suspect position with dangerously exposed flanks. From this position it is possible to achieve a truly
'Napoleonic' victory.
