††††Many animals like to play games, none more so than humans. One of the first man-made games which still survives today is dominoes. It is played with 28 small oblong blocks, with (usually) 0 to 6 pips in each half. Dominoes was invented in Mesopotamia around 2500 BC, but was unknown in Europe before the 18th century. It was introduced to Britain, possibly by French prisoners, by about 1800.
