††††The V-1, also known as the 'doodlebug', 'flying bomb' or 'buzz-bomb' was a pilotless jet-propelled aircraft loaded with explosives. Along with the V-2 rocket, it was one of the first guided missiles. It was used by the Germans in World War II to bomb London from faraway bases.
