  5.               A press conference held at ONE BBSCON, Atlanta, GA
  6.               revealved the following information:

  8.        Concentric Research Corp. announced it has agreed to buy
  9.        network equipment and services valued at $9.5 million from
  10.        RacalDatacom Inc. The equipment will be used to deploy a
  11.        frame relay data communication network to launch the
  12.        revolutionary new BBS Direct service.

  14.        BBS Direct is Concentric Research's new service that will
  15.        revolutionize the way consumers connect to the nation's
  16.        60,000 electronic bulletin board services (BBS).  Customers
  17.        now pay long distance telephone charges to connect to bulletin
  18.        boards.  With BBS Direct, they will pay a flat rate of $30 a
  19.        month for unlimited access via CRC's network.

  21.        "We make long distance usage charges for BBS callers
  22.        obsolete," said Marc Collins-Rector, Concentric Research's
  23.        president and chief executive officer.

  25.        BBS Direct users will dial a local telephone number to
  26.        connect to the new CRC Network, a dedicated data network that
  27.        will use Racal-Datacom equipment and AT&T InterSpan Frame-
  28.        Relay Service.

  30.        "We chose Racal-Datacom because we needed the highest-quality
  31.        networking equipment available," Collins-Rector said.  "The
  32.        engineering integrity of Racal-Datacom equipment is
  33.        unparalleled.  This will guarantee that our fram relay
  34.        network is the best in the country and that it has the
  35.        highest quality equipment in place from the start."

  38.        new network and what the network will mean to the millions
  39.        of people using electronic bulletin boards," said James K.
  40.        Norman, president of Racal-Datacom.

  42.        Deployment of BBS Direct has started, and the official launch
  43.        service is planned for late September.  Initially, the
  44.        network will offer local dial-up access in the 100 largest
  45.        metropolitan areas, expanding to 350 points of presence in
  46.        the next 18 months.  In addition, "800"-number service will
  47.        be established for customers outside the points of presence.
  48.        Thirty of the nation's largest BBSs are charter members of
  49.        BBS Direct and will be accessible at the time the network is
  50.        in place.  Other BBSs will be added quickly once the network
  51.        is established.

  53.        "Some of the best information available electronically can
  54.        be found on independent bulletin boards," Collins-Rector
  55.        said.  "Until BBS Direct, the only way to access most of
  56.        these services is by using long-distance voice lines and
  57.        paying long-distance rates."

  59.        Users of BBS Direct will have the added benefit of having
  60.        full access to the Internet and to Concentric Research's
  61.        CRIS on-line information and entertainment network.

  63.        The Racal-Datacom Excalibur ASET-1 (analog single-ended T-1)
  64.        will enable computer users over a widespread area to access
  65.        bulletin boards on the service by enabling remote calls to be
  66.        consolidated on high-capacity, cost-effective and
  67.        high-performance T-1/T-3 circuits.  Corporations with large
  68.        computer networks long ago learned the economy of T-1/T-3,
  69.        and BBS Direct will enable bulletin board users to enjoy
  70.        similar savings.

  73.        intelligent hubs and CMS 400 and CMS 6000 components of the
  74.        Racal Mangement System.  As a Wellfleet value-added reseller,
  75.        Racal will also provide Wellfleet routers for the CRC Network.
