ep200 zone

Welcome to ep200 Zone, this "zone" business is getting out of hand really, but I like the sound of ep200 Zone, so there!

Most of us already know that Episode 200 is the final episode of Sailormoon ever (unless Naoko and TOIE change their minds). Therefore obtaining and viewing of this ultimate episode should be on every SM fan's list of "things to do within this lifetime". Those who are curious about how this monumental episode ended have probably seen it or read the synopsis for themselves. At this point I would like to recommend Hitoshi Doi's site and Janelle's Everchanging Sailormoon Gateway for excellent and highly detailed synopsis. As for this page, this is my synopsis, written from my own perspective, whether it's as accurate as the above mentioned sites is for you to decide.

Episode 199

Before going on to ep 200 I would like to talk about the penultimate ep 199 a little, this episode is so tightly linked with the 200th that they should be viewed together in one sitting for max effect! Ep 199 is also very enjoyable in its own right. At the beginning of ep 199 Uranus and Neptune's emotional death scene from the previous episode (that would be ep198 maths fans!) is repeated as a prelude to that nice opening song and sequence. Then we get down to business with The Star Lights giving the awesome Sailor Galaxia all they got. If you knew how powerful Galaxia is you'd probably laugh at the idea, the Golden Queen certainly did! However, to her (and my) surprise The Star Lights managed to find some extra inspiration to really give Galaxia a bad time, they brought her to her knees and drew blood! Now, this is as good a time as any to kick a (mega powerful) woman when she's down, but this being SM only bad guys of very low moral fibres would do that! So, any way, having brought Galaxia to her knees the scantily leather clad senshi basically stood around gloating, this gave Galaxia plenty of time to pull herself together and show these part time rock stars who is boss! So she basically blasted them with the old sticking the magic sword into the ground routine. This had the effect of flinging the Star Lights , Chibi Chibi and Sailor Moon about like so many match sticks.

Worse still, being injured really put Galaxia in a foul mood and she made a beeline for the Sailor Star Lights to get her own back and then some. Alas, Sailor Moon, brave girl that she is, blocked her way. This resulted in her being blasted by Galaxia's power and her star seed popped out. Her outfit then became those funny red ribbons we often see at the climax of most SM seasons and movies.

As Galaxia approached Sailor Moon for the kill she was interrupted by the sound of Chibi Chibi's praying. Given Chibi Chibi's hitherto very limited vocabulary it is not surprising that everyone stopped what they were doing to hear what Chibs has to say... This is where ep 199 ended.

Episode 200

Once again Chibi Chibi saved the day proving (as if prove is needed) that she is not only cuter than Chibi Usa, she is a lot more useful! Chibi Chibi basically merged her star seed with the (by then) semi conscious Usagi, this somehow triggered Usagi's transformation into Princess Serenity and furnish the Princess with a mighty sword of her own. However, being a peace loving kind she didn't want to touch it. Not surprisingly Galaxia was not keen on how events were going and rushed at the Princess with her sword. The Princess started to fall grabbed her sword, sprouted wings (I guess that makes her Eternal Princess Serenity!) and blocked Galaxia's attack with her sword. The impact caused Galaxia to fall to the ground. If Galaxia was annoyed before, now she was livid! So much so that her bracelets broke off and she turned into a pale skinned bat winged creature with an appalling hairdo! Now she is more powerful than ever and her voice is reminiscent of Darth Vader or may be a constipated Michael Bolton! She made a frantic attack at the Princess who throughout all this avoided using her sword against Galaxia. Then in self defense she did stab Galaxia and wounded her, this is the kind of thing that Galaxia just won't tolerate from a lesser senshi and she broke the Princess sword using her own. The sword the became little Chibi Chibi who then disintegrated and faded away.

In an alternate dimension we saw a long haired lady standing in a field, it's the "nice" Galaxia of course and I believe the "alternate dimension" is her own subconscious, a part deep inside Galaxia where some remnant of the forces of GOOD still resides. This part is waking up...

But the Princess still has a trick up her sleeve, her one last ace that never fails! She brought out her Star seed and - uh - shed all her clothes (sorry hentai fans, all the naughty bits are either cleverly concealed or just blurred out, serve you right! ;-) This sudden state of "au naturale" seems to have startled Galaxia as it would anybody. She the renewed her attack on the Princess and got a scream or two out of Her Royal Odangoness but alas Usagi's ultimate weapon was too much for her. Basically th Princess was just too damn nice and forgiving for Galaxia who - like Neherenia before her - still retain a trace of goodness deep down. The Princess finally defeated the evil Chaos within Galaxia by her boundless mighty Power Of Love! She is so darn loving Galaxia's sword gave up and shattered into pieces! Galaxia the took the Princess proffered hand and that totally exorcised Chaos from Galaxia and she became a very beautiful lady, uh naked of course. All the star seeds she has been hoading were released, and after a few civil word with the Princess she disappeared.

Having accomplished the mighty feat of saving the world once again Usagi became melancholy, weeping at the thought of her dead friends. Suddenly we hear Rei-chan's voice (hurrah!) telling her she's not alone, and then all the senshi, Inner and Outer appeared around her. Each one took turn to compliment her then Mamoru (in Prince Endymion outfit) appeared cradling Chibi Chibi and Usagi was ecstatic. On the ground where the Sailor Star Lights was watching the battle their princess (Kakyuu) appeared. So now everybody is really happy (except may be Chibi Usa who was thankfully nowhere to be seen!)

Epilogue

Everybody's back in school uniform (which means Usagi is now "decent!"), uh, except Princess Kakyuu who is too old for that sort of thing. The Three Lights said their goodbyes, Lunar flirted with Yaten a bit much to Artemis' irritation. Seiya tried one last flirt with Usagi who didn't get it at all, which spark the last Rei and Usagi bickering session we will ever see :-( He then said goodbye and ask "Mamo-san" to take good care of her. They then instantly transformed to Sailor Star Lights and disappeared in a flash.

The Outers were all in a car and basically said how happy each of them were. Hotaru is very cute and not melancholy at all for the first time! Haruka and Michiru are the happiest of all, life seems to be perfect for them now. (If they could I bet they would beg Naoko not to write another series!)

Usagi and Mamoru had some kind of romantic conversation and kissed, then we hear Usagi's opening speech from the first series in more subdued tone, after that the excellent Moonlight Densetsu was played and we saw some very kawaii stills.
