MASQUERADE & COSTUME CONTEST

The Masquerade is historically the event at Anime Expo with the highest attendance. Every year, members crowd into our largest programming room to watched the costumers strut their stuff. Anime fans from all over the United States and Japan work for months to produce their intricate costumes based on their favorite anime characters.

In recent years, the demand for the Masquerade has grown so large that even our largest programming room does not have enough capacity. Our clever technical staff always comes up with new and interesting ways, including large 20 feet tall projection screens and simulcasting a live video feed into overflow room, to present this major event as many members as possible. Contestants can compete for prizes in divisions Novice through Expert and will be judged by our always-interesting panel of "celebrity" judges.

Here are some hilights of some of the exceptional costumes that have entered in the Masquerade.
