7. Mughal Empire takes over much of southern Asia
Mughal leader
Babur established the Mughal Empire in southern Asia in 1526. His
grandson, Akbar, later set up its governmental structure. The Mughal
Empire has brought a new level of order to the region through its
centralized government. Akbar has proven to be a wise ruler. Although
he himself is Muslim, he has won the loyalty of Hindus through his
religious tolerance.
