BANK OF SAVINGS (SPARKASSA) OF RUSSIAN FEDERATION

Bank of Savings of Russian Federation is the leading bank of Russia. The Bank has a wide network of branch offices, among which 73 regional banks, 1814 departments, 27 544 branch departments, 567 agencies. Russian enterprises and companies hold more than 1 million accounts in the Bank; as of 01.01.99, the Bank held 84,9% of all private money invested in Russian banks.

Every day the Bank processes a vast amount of documents. The staff engaged in document processing is huge, some document processing groups employ several dozen men. Still, the document amount is so large that even these groups sometimes fail to do their work.

But now the Bank entrusts the entry of documents of several most frequently used types to scanners and software of ABBYY Software House - FineReader Bank. Every day some 10 000 documents are processed via FineReader Bank; the whole number of documents processed this way amounts, as of now, to several dozens of millions. The first copy of FineReader Bank was sold to the Bank at the beginning of 1998, and now ABBYY technologies are used in 10 regions of Russia.
