I longly hesitated buying: FineReader 5 or another OCR. I choose FineReader, without realy knowing why. A friend working with other OCR-programm said to me that I was an idiot, not to buy the best, the standard. As all worked fine with FineReader, I said to him that we should compare the two softs... We have done it with multiple scans... He now works with FineReader 5.0 too. 

Just one other word : Your Logo is wonderfull.

I am tremenously impressed with the potential of FineReader. It appears to me to be, by comparison with other OCR programs , 
(a) simpler to use amd 
(b) to require correction of substantially less words.

FineReader seems like a dream! It is very easy to use and now that I have the Service Pack installed, it works excellently. And it is not exaggerating to say that its accuracy of recognition seems unsurpassable. I will certainly be willing to recommend it for OCR needs.

<FineReader> What a wonderful experience - I can OCR-scan my Faroese documents! We are just 46.000 people speaking Faroese in the isles called Faroe Islands and some thousands in Diaspora. We are used to be over-ruled by English, Danish and other languages - and this is simply a cultural mega experience. Now its possible by your <FineReader> 5.0 to do in word doc and contain a exact copy word for word...and pic's yah.... I was sold, hooked after two scans only.

<FineReader> My first impression about this new version is very positive. I appreciate really the amelioration of the interface, which is more agreeable than before. I find that the help (in English for the moment) is very good. The quality of the OCR is excellent. The number of error is very little, so little that is not necessary to read a second time the text. I find that your software is the best OCR software on the market...

<FineReader> I was very much impressed with its accuracy of reading texts. At various times I tested it against other OCR systems. For comparison I scanned a page from an ordinary daily newspaper here, which has relatively poor quality text. Fine Reader showed great reading accuracy. However, Fine Reader is much more versatile at reproducing various formatting of texts than other programs for that matter. In general Fine Reader is much more "user friendly", much more easy to program various settings for scanning than the others.

I think Lingvo 5.0 (5.2) is one of the best software I ever had. I heavyly rely on it, because of the specific character of my activities, but up to the present moment I had a problem with some errors, which I did not know how to overtake! THANK YOU VERY MUCH! This is the best electronical dictionary in the world - it is fast, easy to use and what is the most important - It has more that a sufficient amount linguistic information. I use to translate a huge of English Russian information every day - but I hadn't single word that it cannot transalte for me yet.

This has to be the best program ever made! I had text so small and faint it was difficult to read. All the other programs I tried could not recognise a single letter (I am not exaggerating). FineReader performed the OCR with amazing accuracy. Its fantastic!

I have recently upgraded from Omnipage Pro 9 to Finereader 4 (www.abbyy.com). Excellent recognition accuracy. Best of all though, it really works well with Microsoft Word to retain exactly the original document layout. In my experience, it is often the post OCR format editing that makes OCR impractical. Like other users iÆm very impressed by the high quality of your product. Up to now I used OP - but the results were absolutely disappointed, even when I used a textimage as a copy or a bad printed one. The most images have stains, and the letters like "rn" or "mm" or "au" etc. are not seperated sharply, and each Programm (until now) has its problems with this point.

Now, after installing FineReader, I gave it the hardest sample I had: a text printed by a FAX (with stripes), copied with an old machine on recycling-paper, almost each letter clings to another, stains like from many flies were sprinkled between the lines - and believe or not - some details of words I myself couldnÆt recognize!! Now I gave a 50percent success to the program, while the other (older ones) makes 40 percent only - that would be the real chance, I thought. But when I saw the result, I lost my belief - -- what the hell is that?? A program can read better than me?? Only 5 percent mistakes???, so it is worth-while - for gods sake - to correct the outcome and integrate in my work... wonderful...marvellous...

ItÆs really the best IÆd ever seen. Clear in the outlook, simply in using, and - thatÆs the core of all - the result is fine - fineread...
