MOSCOW CITY
GOVERNMENTAs part of the Moscow Government
program to support small business, Jury Luzhkov, the mayor of Moscow, established
the
Small Business Register for the capital city. As part of this contract, ABBYY developed
the Generalized Data Collection (GDC) algorithm to automate the paperwork incurred at the
centers. This process was developed by ABBYY using FineReader Handprint.
For this project ABBYY company solved the
problem of duplicated development efforts as a result of the various types of data being
collected. A new application using GDC requires only 1-2 weeks of development, since the
basic functions of the distributed processing and data validation are already incorporated
in FineReader. The development of a general algorithm has considerably simplified the
further introduction of systems by reducing costs for creation of new items of
registration.
